Question about Sonoma Diet
:) Hi everyone. Im a new member to this board and thinking of ordering the Sonoma Diet plan and I understand what the diet is about. Eating healthy whole grains and lean meats, but what can you drink on the plan? I especially like the idea that I can have whole wheat bread and nuts. WW don't allow them on their diet. What can you do if you have a craving for sweets during the first 10 days of the plan? Thanks for any and all help. Im excited about this forum, its awesome...barb

I save my little snack pack of almonds for the sweet attacks ;).. I drink Tazo Zen tea, water.... some decaf coffee... thats about it, I drink tons of ice cold water daily ... it helps... India aka Barb

Barb, I did chew a couple of pieces of sugar-free gum during Wave 1. It's not recommended, but if you just can't stand it, that might be a solution for you. India's suggestion about the almonds is even better, so I'd try that first.
I've been drinking mosly unsweetened tea (a mixture of regular and herbal for flavor) and some water. I've had a couple of diet cokes, but I try to avoid them. I need to drink more water, but I get bored with it. I'm going to try jazzing it up a little with cucumber or citrus slices or something--I think that will help. Jeri |
When the cravings hit during Wave 1, normally if I drank a cup of hot tea it would do the trick. Throughout the day, I drink 16 ounces of green tea, either cold or hot, regurlar tea (usually no more than 8 ounces), and then water, my total liquid intake is between 100 - 124 ounces a day.

Thanks everyone for your input. I don't drink tea, but the almonds sound good. I like crystal light a little. Guess I will have to find my own thing to drink to be satisfied. barb

You are mistaken when you say WW doesn't allow bread and nuts on their diet. I do WW Core Plan and I have 35 points per week to spend on anything I want - bread, nuts, fudge, ice cream. WW does not deny you a single thing if you work the plan correctly.

I used to do WW but got a little adrift with the points structure (my fault not the plan's) as there was nothing in the plan to differentiate between good points and bad points.
The plate thing is working for me. The book has a really good explanation of cravings and how to deal with them. I've certainly not been OP all month but my energy levels are great, my hair and skin are good and I've lost about 8lbs. |
That is true Clareh - that's what makes WW "hard" for me - but I actually like doing a lot of research and trying different things out from different diets to see what really works best for my body, also while keeping w/in points.
I like the concept of the Sonoma diet - there are a lot of good things there! |
