Recipe Questions
Can anyone tell me where to find steel-cut oats? What is the difference? I also saw a recipe that called for wheat berries and I have no clue. Can anyone fill me in?

Here is a link to the Mccans site that should explain about steel cuts. I adore them and won't ever go back to regular oatmeal
http://www.mccanns.ie/ I've never used wheat berries, but here is an article on them http://www.cookinglight.com/cooking/...t_berries.html |
LOVE wheatberries. Martha Stewart's low fat healthy quick-cook uses them in a recipe to be served as a side with pork loin. If you have a whole foods market or central market near you, you should be able to find them.

I love steel cut oats. I buy them at Krogers. They are kind of expensive compared to other types of oatmeal, about $6 per small can, but they last a long time.

Ohh Suzanne.. you are getting screwed!! You can buy them in bulk at Whole Foods or for about 2.50 in a regular old paper oatmeal tub at Trader Joe's ( which I know you don't have) :(

Really? We don't have a Whole Foods or a Trader Joes, but I'll check our local health food store. They sell a lot of grains in bulk, and it never occurred to me to look there. :thanks:
