Does it have a plan?
Hi, I used to be on the micheal thurman, six week body makeover and last about 20lbs. But I can't stand the thought of eating the crap again! The only good thing about the diet is that it helped me with portion control and gave me a eating plan. My question is, does the mediterranean diet have a eating plan? if not, what would be the recommended # of times to eat and how much?

I think it doesn't have that accurate of a plan. I believe that part of the philosophy behind the 'diet' is to step away from the American way of getting all scientific about diet and food and enjoy it. I'd probably check out some online resources for it if you're really looking for quantities or diets.

The Med diet isn't a diet like modern weight loss diets, it's a way of eating that keeps you healthy. When we hear the word diet, we usually think weight loss, but a diet is really just how you eat. You can apply the principles of the Med diet to any other diet. For example, if you belong to Weight Watchers, you can count your points while eating the foods on this diet.
The new Sonoma Diet, however, takes the Mediterranean Diet and structures it for weight loss. It suggests foods to eat, portion sizes, and lays it all out for you. We just started a Sonoma Diet forum, if that helps :) |
Thanks Suzanne, I'll definitely check it out. I've started some research on the omega so it might be a toss up between these two.
