  • WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
    We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

    Motivational Monday
    Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
    Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
    Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

    WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!
  • Hi All,

Well I really late posting again today. It's been another busy day, but thankfully Daren is his happy self again, which of course means I am my happy self again

Ok so who watches Boston Legal? Daren and I love it, and we found some great t'shirts online which have a picture of Denny Crane (William Shatner) on them, smoking a cigar, and with the words Denny Crane for President!! We thought they were brilliant so we ordered one each and they came today. I will have to get one of the kids to get a picture of us when we are wearing them

Patti - if I remember correctly, I read that the DVD could have up to 4 different endings. I wouldn't mind watching the film again to see all the clues that I obviously missed before!

SueMarie - very glad to hear you aren't dead Sorry to hear how poorly you have been though and that you still have a bad chest. I just hope it clears up before the really hot summer gets here! Don't worry too much about the scales, you know whatever you have gained will come off again soon enough. It's been far more important for you to rest and recuperate

Zelma - I love to see your posts, it's good that you have some time to post more regularly again I haven't had chance to email anybody today, I don't have much on tomorrow, so hopefully I will get to write to you then

Kayley - wow what a journey you had to get to the medieval event. It sounds like it was worth it though and I am glad you had such a great time. Shame you went back for the camera and then ended up leaving it in the car though, sounds like something I would do

I hope you will have a wonderful time at the Venetian Festival and that your first meeting with Andrew's dad will love you.

Mary - well done on getting back on track, it was nice of your friend to remind you not to be like she was a while back, gaining back the weight lost. I personally have done the same thing on and off for many many years. Lost weight, gained it, lost it, gained it. This time I have lost more than ever before and intend to carry on losing and never gain it all back again

Melissa - did you get to walk home or did it end up raining. Don't you have an umbrella, I never leave home without mine in my bag, no matter how sunny it is

Nancy - thanks for the lovely comment you made about Daren and me He is much happier today which makes me happy too.

I hate to admit this, but I LOVE filing!! When I was in college doing a secretarial course a company rang and asked if they could send anybody from the class to get experience working in an office. They needed somebody to help out with filing that had really built up and they didn't need to hire anybody permanently. It was just a 2 day thing. My typing teacher recommended me. I was thrilled, and off I toddled to the the company. I settled in to the filing job and loved it. Problem was I did it so well and quickly that I did myself out of the second day's work

Hpnotq - I hope I haven't missed you before you ship your PC. Just want to say I will miss you while you are offline, and to say woohoo about all the exercise you have done

Sharon - how are you doing today? Sorry I never got to look for you on MSN, today has just been hectic.

Annie - just want to say and send you a

Brenda, Brandnewme, Andrea, Dusty, Julee, Jilly, Valerie, Lilion, and anybody else I am daft enough to have not mentioned, take care and

    See you all tomorrow,

    Hugs,

    Ammi
  • Hi Ammi and everyone!

I hope you are all doing well! I am trying to "baby" my back so it doesn't go out. Been in real pain lately. We have our car search down to I think two cars now. We like the Nissan Altama and the Honda Accord.

Well won't bore you all with my boring details of my life! lol.

    Have a Great Night!
  • Hi Ladies!! I got in 65 minutes of swimming this afternoon...as well as walking home!! 2 miles home!! Woo Hoo! DH showed me the way home; it was through a *beautiful* forest/trail.....so pretty, I got some pictures! Also, when we left to walk some it had stopping raining...then when we were in the middle of the trail is starting POURING...I mean POURING, lol, I had rain dribbling into my eyes, lol, but it was awesome, we just embraced it, lol, I was like "I love this!!!" LOL. I'm a nature freak! So we looked like little wet rats when we got home, lol. 2 miles - not a stop in sight! I'm liking this walking thing. So, I'm at 65 minutes swimming, and 7200 steps so far. Yay! Also, last night I stayed up I was up late and only snacked on a frozen yogurt pop (50 cals!!) and I made it about 2 hours after that with no more snacking before bed, woo hoo, I came to under 1550 calories!! (My limit is 2000) I'm finally feel like I'm getting into a groove...I guess 8 was the magic # of weeks for me, lol. And even though I had already walked earlier, yesterday night I decided to get in 10 extra minutes of cardio by doing indoor walking. Well, that's all I can remember at the moment.
Have a good one everybody, and stay OP chickies!!!

    Melissa
  • Hi All,

It's a gorgeous day here today. I should be doing some washing, but it can wait lol. I did some cleaning this morning and the rest of the day I just want to spend catching up with emails and posting here

Sassy - hi. Glad you have narrowed it down to a choice of two cars. I personally prefer the Nissan. Dont ask me why I like Nissans, I couldn't tell you Which are you going to opt for?

Melissa - you are really loving all the activity in your life now, it's wonderful to hear. Hope you are having a good day

Sharon - I put your photos on the pic page. If I looked like you I don't think I would bother dieting Your size is what I consider 'normal' it's what I am initially aiming! for Will look for you for a chat this afternoon

Everybody - go see Sharon's pics on the pic page

    Bye for now,

    Hugs,

    Ammi
  • Just a few quickies --

Kayley, I thought I posted this on the last thread, but something must have glitched. How did the FOOD go at Medieval Times?

Nancy, your comment about dealing with the rest of our lives rang true for me. There are many parts of my life I think I treated like my weight -- little problems that got bigger and bigger. I need to learn how to tackle them when they're easier to handle. Easier said than done, I guess.

Ammi, so glad Daren is feeling better!!! and 2 more pounds, you are a machine!

Melissa, great to see you loving the exercise! If you ever start to struggle with it, come back and read these posts! They are very infectious!
  • Heather... LOL every day I look to see if you made it to OneDerland... wow that FFM is giving you a hard time! I am going after her today and let her know in no uncertain terms she needs to pay you a visit!! So expect results soon!
  • Hi Ammi. Not sure yet. I think hub wants to go back out again and look at them both again. Its ulimately up to him as I like both, so its whichever one he feels more comfy in. I personally like the Accord a little better, but again its' really up to hub. So we'll see..............

Hope you have a good day!
  • Wohoo I have the day off sort of ....i do not have to drive for camp today , but my DH 's car is broke we were on are way home last night and i heard something like i ran over something and then i lost the power steering and the amp gage went to 0 --and we were 25 miles from home my DH kept telling me to keep going hopefully we will make it home well about 20 min from home we lost a part from underneath the car all i could do is picture the cartoon where the car just falls apart as we drive down the road and it was dark when we got home so he could not look to see what was wrong he looked quick this morning and he thinks he knows what is wrong and he can fix it I HOPE
as for my eating yesterday i did really good i was under by 4 points and i think that was good because i have been going over most everyday lately now if i can just do as well today LOL
    oh wait Positive thinking
I will do as good today as i did yesterday

  • wow those pictures of Sharon are great. that is what i am aiming for too ...slowly very slowly but surely!
  • Good Morning all..

All is well here in Central West Vriginia, Ammi I am very happy that things are feeling better at home, I think about you and Daren during the day,,

I am doing fine food wise, still the same whinning and complaints So not much to report, I sound like a broken record here lately.. Take Care all
  • Sharon(voodoo)) You dont look the weight your ticker says you are, Are you sure it is right! You look good,,,
  • Heather - Ok, now it's me and Misti ganging up on that FFM, so if you don't see that lb come off some time soon I will be very surprised. You have such a great attitude about it though that I just KNOW you won't give up. No matter how long it takes you are going to get rid of that pesky lb on keep on losing

Sassy - you will have to let us know which car you end up getting. If hubby is doing the driving, or the majority of it I guess then he should have the final say. But do let him know just how much you would prefer the Honda

Mary - oh boy that sounds expensive, all those car parts falling off. I must admit I too had the image of the cartoon car falling apart as you told the story I hope that hubby will be able to fix it without it costing too much money, and I am glad you got home safely!

Good on you for the positive thinking, it does make the world of difference! And well done for saving 4 points yesterday

Patti - oh me too, I would love to look like Sharon does. When I get to that stage I am going to have to be very careful that I don't try to give up on the diet, happy with how I look. I want to get down to 'normal' on the weight charts, and I am going to do it!!

Crock - I am glad you are eating well still, how is the money situation now, any better? What about the job, any news on that yet?

Thank you for thinking of me and Daren, I think of you a lot too, and I get so upset for you that you are so motivated to diet and that your finances are stopping you being 100% on SB. It's not fair. Well let's just hope you get that job and that things will look up really soon

Misti - so what form of torture do we threaten the FFM with so that she gives Heather a break and lets her get that lb off Let me know so we can get it all arranged Hope you are having a great day!
  • Ammi – I would love to have you come over and do my filing for me! Once I get into it I like it ok, especially if I put some music on. It is just one of those things I have a mental block about and don’t like thinking about doing, but the thinking is worse than the doing (if you know what I mean)

    Sassy
    – I have a Nissan and have had good luck with it so far, but those two cars are both really good.

Melissa – The rain has been crazy here too. I LOVE getting caught outside in a good rainstorm – unfortunately my BF is terrified of it (because of the lightening). Oh well. That is very cool that you have found your groove. I know what you mean.

Sharon – How tall are you? You totally do NOT look your weight. Oh, and I LOVE your shirt.

Mary – I hope it is nothing too serious with your car. That is always scary when you drive over something in the dark. There is this giant pothole near my house that got me one night – it totally scared me. Luckily now I know where it is and avoid it.

As for me, today was my weigh in day, but I am actually going to take yesterday’s weigh in. My body is SO sensitive to salt right now that even the slightest increase will cause me to gain a lot of water weight. My BF made me dinner last night and it was on the salty side. So yesterday I was 298 and today 300. I know the extra 2 pounds is water and I need some good news so I am calling it 298. My goal was to be under 300 by my birthday (which is Saturday) and I have done that. I am so happy to get back to my routine next week and start going to the gym again. I have missed it SO much. I have however gotten REALLY good about bringing my lunch to work and I think I can keep that up once I go back to my old routine.
  • Ammi it wont be long before you reach that normal weight!
