Default Hump Day Chat - April 26

Good morning! A clear and sunny sunrise is about to happen but it's too darn cold to do coffee on the deck. It went below freezing last night so my pump at the garden well is wrapped in a winter jacket. It looks embarrassed!

Hersh and I had a lovely relaxing day yesterday. I got the taxes done and mailed, did a bit of sewing and she caught up on her sleep lying on my feet. A friend came over in the afternoon to dig some plants and convinced me to go out to dinner with her and her DH. A fun evening with lots of laughter!

This morning I go for my PT. I've not been doing the formal exercises very regularly but the knee has been getting lots of use and seems to be improving. This afternoon there's a big meeting of volunteers for the International Ploughing Match which will happen here in 2007. I am going to try very hard not to get involved but have been told the welcoming committee is "counting on me". Sheesh! What the heck does that mean? Pies for 500? It's going to be a pretty big deal with a tent city and thousands of people to feed - all this on 300 acres.

So what's going on with you today?

I'm up and feeling 95% better than I've felt in over a week. The DR gave me the name of an allergist to see, but first he'd like me to give his new prescription a try. It's NasacortCQ and a new version of Allegra that's supposed to be 3x's stronger than the regular version. I gave it a real test yesterday, staying outside most of the day while a lot of mowing and weedwacking were going on, and so far I'm OK. So we'll see how long this will work, before I see the allergist.
I had an activity-packed day yesterday, and even worked late, but managed to have a good OP day. Today's schedule looks even busier than yesterday, so I'm going to go pack my lunch and figure out what we'll have for supper.

Ruth ~ Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday. Don't let them talk you into doing something you'd rather not get involved with. Pies for 500???

Morning all. Hoping to get my car back today. It's been inconvenient to go without a car for the better part of a week, but with everyone's help, it hasn't been as bad as it could have been. The work situation is continuing to unfold. Hopefully today I'll get a better idea of which clients I'll be supporting. Everyone's still holding their breath though - there's rumors that they're going to do another layoff in another week or so.

Ruth - Glad to hear that your knee is doing better! I'm sure that bending and working in the garden is giving it a workout. It's cold down here too. Not below freezing, but around 40F, which is pretty cold here for this time of year.

Cottage - Great news that they found some allergy meds that worked for you!

Everyone have a great day!

Morin all;
Well, yesterday was spent with the district manager, service manager and 2 installers looking at the install of my new windows. All of them saying what on earth did they do??? Some choice words were said and they are coming back out within the next 2 weeks to take these out and redo the frame they tore out and messed up real bad. They also didn't center the windows so in the den one goes into the wall, and the other end is flush. Big mess. They said these installers most likely won't have a job anymore. They had only been working with them for a week.
Off to get ready for an asthma appt. this morning, will check in later.

Mornin all. Busy day of work, and tonite working on a school project. Probably a late nite for my daughter so we can finish. Shas rehersal for the talent show after school so when she comes home we won't have time for much else but a quick dinner, HW and then project. I'm sure many of you have been in the same boat. My son has speech and then Pre-K (2 1/2 hours of quiet for me) but I will be going to Curves and running errands as per ususal. Great weather here again today. Not much else but hoping to stay OP today. Been struggling a bit but seem to be getting back on track. Have a great day ladies.

Mornin' ladies - I'm sippin' my hot tea and waking up for my 8:00 training appointment. I've been being pretty good about Phase 1 again, and consciously let myself have a couple of glasses of wine, chose an appropriate entree but then birthday girl FORCED me to try the bread and the dessert. I definitely didn't go crazy and they were definitely tastes but don't think that's allowed on Phase 1, teehee.

So today is official weigh-in day, last training appointment etc. We're going to the local spring fed swimming pool tonight to try out our snorkling masks... OFFICIALLY ONE WEEK FROM TODAY I WILL BE SAYING ALOHA!

My deal closed yesterday evening, should fund this morning, I'm going to be able to pay May rent and I don't have to put up with jerkiest realtor ever anymore!

So today is a great day, had a fabulous girls night last night and mother nature has given us a treat by cooling the temps off for us!

Lindy - It DOES sound like you have a busy day ahead of you, but that's GREAT that you're making Curves a priority!

Mornin' MsCrockett - You're doing GREAT!

Chipper - Sorry they did such a number on your windows but I'll send out an intention that they get it right the second time around!

Jana - I know it's AMAZING how much we depend on our cars! Hang in there with your job stuff...

Cottage - Glad you are feeling better! I know that allergies can be so debilitating (sp?)

and Miss Ruth - Good luck with your appointment this morning, International Plowing Contest? Tell us about that!

Good Morning Ladies

We're having a beautiful sunny A.M. and when we get back from treatments I'm going to take advantage with a long relaxing walk to clear the cob webs of my head.

Happy to report that my weight that I gained in one day[4-lbs] is finally down again where it was at the being of the week.Have to lay off those sodium filled dinners.Thats the reason I haven't posted in several days,as I was degusted with myself gaining in the beach instead of lossing. YIKES!!! What was I thinking when Ruth always worns us about FRANKENFOODS

Have to get ready for treatment will post later

Hugs BB

Ruth - I know how hard it is not to say Yes when you are asked. Believe me, I know!! But pies for 500? WOW!

cottage - Allegra has been a saviour for Brian and I. We take it daily year round. I take Flonase with it and Brian used to take NasacortAQ but we got him off it last summer as it was stunting his growth. Now he takes Astelin whenever the Allegra isn't enough.

jana - Good luck surviving any future layoffs. I know how scary it is.

chipper - I'm just glad they are willing to fix the windows so quickly and aren't giving you a fight about it. Hopefully this time it will be done right.

MsCrockett - It is cool here today too but we'll be hot again soon enough.

Lindy - Some days it feels like it will never stop. Good luck staying OP.

sarah - I've always wanted to learn to snorkel. It sounds like fun.

beach bum - Frankenfoods do it to me too!

schatzi - I'm lost when I don't have connectivity although it was kind of nice to go camping and just forget about everything for awhile.

Me - I don't mind the rain except that it is predicted that it will rain Saturday. How am I going to run the Cub Scout garage sale in the rain? Everyone think dry thoughts, please!

Good Morning Everyone!

Hope everyone is having a good morning. We've had chilly weather here the past few days and this morning was no exception. brrrrr

I think I might have cracked a filling the other day...it doesn't really hurt, but it doesn't feel quite right. I've made a dentist appointment for Friday. I dislike going to the dentist...but on the upside, I'm taking a 1/2 off of work! I know I don't really need to, but I have enough sick time to go on maternity leave for 3 babies!! jk

I'm doing pretty good staying OP, if only I could start making it to the gym!

Not too much else is going on. DBF's birthday is tomorrow. I had asked him on Monday what he had wanted for dinner and this morning he told me Chicken with Thai Peanut Sauce...woohoo something SBD friendly!! I was worried he was going to say something like fried chicken or pizza. He's not working right now, so yesterday I came home to a clean (he even swept the floor) apartment, with all the dishes washed and he had rearranged the furniture like we had been discussing. He is just too wonderful. He's starting SBD (a convert from Atkins) on 5/2 (we are going to a Cubs game on 5/1 and he wanted beer and hotdogs) and he's psyched.

Ruth: my curiousity is peaked...ploughing event?!?
Sarah: Hawaii...I am jealous
Lindy: busy, busy, busy!

Hi and to everyone else!

Happy Admin. Professional Day to all my fellow Admins. We know who really makes our offices run...US!!

Hope everyone has a great day

Morning chicks!

Glad to be back on the beach. I had my hard boiled egg, cottage cheese and V8 this morning so I'm feeling pretty good. I'm going to have to limp along on this until I can get to the grocery store and stock up. I should pick up the new under 30 minute cookbook too! I posted last night on where I've been and why my beach towel has been empty for awhile so check Tues out if you are curious. I don't want to re-run everything today because there is no lookin back! Only forward.

I'm glad you didn't sell my beach towel to the cabana boy. Speaking of cabana boys you should have seen the one in Gulf Shores, AL this spring break. Hokey Mokey!

It was very chilly here in West Michigan this morning!

Ruth - Last time I was here the boys were working in your cellar - hope it went well!

Schatzi - Hi chickie!!!! Wait until I tell you some of my Match.com stories! You will be rolling on the floor! I went into Dunkin Doughnuts this morning to get a coffee only - there was the best looking guy, he was just perfect and I think my mouth must have hit the ground. I couldn't help but stare at him. Then he went out the door and jumped in his Jaguar and roared off. He was too young for me but absolutely darling! Metrosexual! He was better groomed than I am.

To the oldies but goodies - Hi I've missed you all!

To the newie but goodies - I can't wait to get to know you better!

I'm glad to be here and I'm super motivated!!! Have a great day!

Ruthie - Shame, shame, for not doing your exercises! But, I'm very glad to hear that your knee is improving!!! I know you've struggled with it for a long time and it makes me happy to hear that it's getting better.

Cottage - Let me know how that script does for you. My Claritin isn't touching my allergies this year. I am thinking I need something a bit stronger since I've been miserable so far this spring. It takes care of most of the drainage, but I still am clawing my eyes out, scratching at my nose, my eyes are watering, I'm coughing, sneezing, and my throat is still a bit sore from the drainage.

Jana - Oh I will pray for you and your work situation! I hope everything stays ok for you. Good luck getting your car back today! I know what it's like to be without a car. We become so dependant on things. I've noticed it with my cell phone. If I lost my phone, I wouldn't know anyone's phone number, and I have 165 numbers programmed into it. How in the world do I know that many people?

Chipper - I hope they fire those window installers! They'd better take care of it all, too! Good for you for standing up and hollering!

MsCrockett - Cool here in IL, too. Terry and I froze this morning. We haven't had the air/heat on for weeks because it's been relatively comfortable at night, but last night it got down to the mid-30's. Woke up this morning shivering. Hope it warms up for you!

Lindy - Trust me, we all struggle. Hope you continue to stay OP and have a wonderful day!

Sarah - Aren't you excited about Hawaii?? I can tell you that I'm leaving for Key West in 45 days and I'm about to fall off my chair, I'm so excited. I want to see pics when you get back!

Beach Bum - Enjoy your nice long walk. And no more talk of frankenfood.

Schnatzo - Have fun at Curves! Way to stick to it!

Barb - I hope it stays dry for your garage sale! It's supposed to rain Fri-Tues here, and probably up north too, so when DH goes to his Cubs/Brewers game Friday afternoon (GO CUBS!) he may get a little wet. Serves him right, going to a game with my brother and not taking me. Grr.

Anna Renee - GO CUBS! I didn't realize you were in Chi-town. You in the city or burbs?

Anchor - I'm glad you're back! We have missed you! We'd never sell your towel! You guys kept my duckie towel around while I was MIA, and I was gone much longer than you. Can't wait to catch up!

Well, I've been "behaving" so far this week, trying to get some form of exercise in every day and not overeating. Today is a rough one though. Someone brought in a chocolate/caramel/nut pie thing for Secretary's Day so I had a sliver of that. My boss is taking me out to lunch to a place that I know has NOTHING healthy, so I may have a salad and try to find the healthiest vegetarian thing on the menu, eat half of it, and toss the rest. Then tonight my friend Karen is making me spaghetti, which can't be too horrible for you as long as you eat a modest portion. Down one pound, but I'm sure after today I'll gain it back.

Volleyball was cancelled last night and I didn't feel like going out to the Y after we were already home, so I just did the stationary bike until my bum couldn't take it anymore.

I've made up my grocery list and am hitting Ph1 next week. It's been such a long time, but I'm very excited that I can have Morningstar Farms and Boca "meat" now. That'll help me not get burnt out on eggs, beans, nuts, cheese, and veggies. I'm pretty excited.

Well, gotta get back to work. Going to lunch soon. Hope you all have a great day!
