"Hot Pockets"

  • I devised this myself after a severe craving for some Pizza Pops.. lol

    1 10" whole wheat tortilla
6-8 pieces of vegeterian pepperoni (has less fat/salt than reg, you could prob use turkey too)
2-3 tsp of low sugar pasta sauce
    1 mushroom, sliced
1/2 cup of low fat mozzarella, shredded
Any other toppings that you like on a pizza, such as onions, green peppers.. whatever you like that is SB friendly

I used a George Foreman grill to do the heating it worked well because it keeps the wrap from opening.

Spread sauce on the tortilla in the middle leaving about a 2 inch "crust" around the edges.
Arrange toppings however you like, cheese ontop.
Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll up from the bottom. Place on the heated grill for about 5 min.
I'm sure a sandwich maker or anything that is a closed heating device would work. its really just to keep the wrap from opening up.

Enjoy it really is like a hot pocket.... num.
  • yup tried this and it is nummy and really did hit the hot pocket spot
  • Where can you find vegetarian pepperoni? what brand name should I look for?

    Sarah
  • The kind I buy is called Yyves.. they keep the vegeterian products in with the produce, I'm sure if you can't find it turkey pepperoni will be fine too.
