Default 300+ And Ready To Try Again...#822

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!

Hi everyone! Just a quick check in before I go watch SURVIVOR..

Did the weigh in today.... down 2 more for a grand total of 12.5. Not bad... I'm happy with that. (not as happy as I'd be with twice that but I keep reminding myslef that I'm doing this the right way.... a couple at a time).

Hope you all are doing great today--- more later!

you closed out the thread as i was typing.. lol

kayley - i totally agree that free is better!! sometimes tho the clothes are so close to free i cant help but by them the old navy stuff is great. i would even try looking at the old navy website and seeing if there is a store in your area that carries the womens plus. even if they dont tho, try going anyway. if you search, especially the clearance, you never know what you will find. ive found plus sized stuff at a normal old navy all the time. there is a really cute dress on the website - its a strapless tube dress for like 30.00 - i got it for 6 dollars because its not something they normally sell.

Ammi - i thought about that after i posted, but i figured i would at least offer

GarnetFairy - i hope that you took my "keep up" challenge as a joke. it most definately was

Nancy - WAY TO GO!!! listening to your body and getting what you REALLY want rather than the easy answer. i bet you felt great after for getting the veggies AND making a consious positive decision! WAY TO GO!!!

so i had a little bit of a downer today. i found out that i wasnt approved for my loan for school. even with a co-signer. anyone have any suggestions?

2losingit - congrats on your loss. you should do a tracker. its really an ego booster when you can move the numbers down and show off what you are doing. you dont have to start with a weight, you can just do what you are trying to lose. altho i have found that admitting and accecpeting the weight i am helps me to stay focused and not be that weight anymore congrats again!!

2LosinIt - Like Luan said, the weight trackers are great! I would NEVER admit to anyone how much I weighed. But you all made me feel at home, so I don't have that SHAME. If only people in the "Real world" were this great! Congrats on your loss! What a great start!! Keep it up, and never get discouraged!

Luan - Maybe when I lose another 50 pounds, I'll be more confident to go into Old Navy. Right now, I stick to Ebay, Fashion Bug, and Hot Topic (for my band shirts...if they ever have any GOOD ones, which is hardly ever! lol). I couldn't pull off anything strapless, let alone a TUBE TOP! lol You aren't eligible for financial aid? I'm trying to build up a credit history, so that maybe I can get a loan, as I won't be eligible for financial aid this year, since my Mom got married. Hope you get SOMETHING figured out!

I am SO tired! I only got about 5 hours of sleep last night, so it's going to be to bed with me in a few minutes, as I want to get up in the morning and work out like I did today! Made me feel GOOD! Hope you chicks all have a great night, and an even better tomorrow!

Kayley, FIrst of all, I think you should dump Andrew right this second and give him my number! Wait... I'm old enough to be his mother, and come to think of it my husband might object. OK. You better hang on to him then cuz he sounds like a keeper!!!!

Julee, I was so depressed when I ordered my flowers, I finally just told her I wanted them big enough to hide behind. Every flower she suggested I said yes too. Well, The Day rolled around they came in with the hugest and most glorious bouquets I've ever seen in my life. You should have seem my poor matron of honor holding them both thru the ceremony. At the end i started back up the eisle and forgot to take mine back - you should have seen her face! You may not want them as big, but I'm sure yours will be every bit as lovely!

Felicia * That's such a cool NSV - doing the treadmill without holding on. I haven't been on mine lately (been walking the track or elsewhere) but I noticed last time I was on it that my balance was improving. I can walk along a curb now without falling off. I could just so relate to your post. Isn't it incredible to feel that way?!

Nancy * W!T!G! on the broccoli!!! Isn't that NEAT?!

Luan * I hope you find a solution to the tuition dilema. I wish I had something useful to offer.

I'm havin' a Really Good night! I started out in a size 26 and it seemed to take forever - over 30 pounds - to get into 24's. But tonight I bought a pair of 22's and brought them home. Just tried them on, and Vwal-LA! They're snug, but they FIT! Scuze me now while I go do a little "Bye-Bye Fat Pants" Dance!!

Valerie - He's definately a keeper! I love him so much. Congrats on your loss! That's SUCH a great feeling to have a new size to fit. Dance sister, dance!

Well, I'm finally off to bed now. Hope you all sleep well!

Valerie:

This was my 2nd florist appointment. I actually said that the one thing I do NOT want is a huge white training bouquet. I want beautiful colors... something smaller but impactful..we were discussing roses, hydrangeas and stephanotis. I also had a few other ideas as well...so we will see what happens when the 2 florists give me their price quotes.

Kayley and whoever else..I will try to take some pictures this weekend of what I have here in terms of clothing...and then try to post them. Hopefully some of it will be of some good to someone.

G'nite all...I'm going to vegetate. BTW if anyone has AOL/AIM I can be reached on there at the same screenname as I use here.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I am making spicy beanburgers for dinner so I hope they work! Kayley, its a shame I don't live in the US, I have some lovely long BLACK crushed velvet skirts and gothic/rock tees and tops. I have just got into my Marilyn Manson T shirt, I know you're not a 'goth' but it looks like you wear similar stuff to me. WTG with Andrew, wish my hubby said stuff like that, though we've been together 11 years soon, it would be nice to get some compliments/enthusiasm!!! I think he's got used to all of my 'diets' and is waiting to see when I get fed up, literally!!!! It has happened so often!!!

I hope that everyone is well, Julee good luck with the flowers, Valerie, give your lovely horses a pat from me and everyone keep up the exercise and healthy eating,
xxxsharon.
