Default Moving beyond the half way mark

Hi, I'm new to the board and hoping I can find support to keep moving. About a year ago I broke up with food. In that time, I am down about 60# and am really enjoying my life and my new body.

I don't want to stall out here though. I just broke through a three month plateau with a 4lb loss and am working on keeping the momentum going.

Any wisdom is welcome!

Good job!! Breaking through a plateau is tough. I know in my yo-yo world that plateaus are sometimes what send me off a diet. I will be good for 3 or 4weeks and then..... nothing. So I start think, 'Why bother dieting if I am not losing weight?' - and BOOM! it all comes back on.

I am just getting started again.

Wow; congratulations on all your hard work and getting past the half-way mark. I think getting to that point is a big step psychologically. Keep coming back to 3FC; you will be inspired!

Because the weight you've already lost should still be an incentive to continue eating healthy. It's not worth it to sabotage yourself because you're stalled and put back on what's already gone

Like me, for example, I've been stuck at 141 for ages. However, just because my weight isn't moving anymore doesn't mean I'm giving up my new "lifestyle" (I don't "diet" anymore) to put back on everything I just lost. I just keep reminding myself that I'd rather be 141 pounds the rest of my life than 220.

Never give up!

Default stagnation not regression ...

Hi all, thanks for the welcome. I am not actually afraid gaining back what I've lost by regressing in my eating habits. I'm ok with what I eat now and don't fantisize about all the foods I'll eat when I am no longer dieting. I eat what I want, but I just chose to eat an entirely new world of food choices and am amazed sometimes by what I crave now [spicy roasted veggies over cottage cheese] and then [fish and chips and a pint of guiness]. I've got exercise goals I haven't met and some I haven't set yet, if I need a day off, I take one, but I couldn't tell you the last time I took one.

That said, I do need to think about paying attention to what else I can work on to make it through the next stage of my weight loss. I've upped my distance from 3.5 to 5.5 on a good day, but want to get a bit lower before I can up my speed. I walk outside on fairly rugged terain and all the bouncing would kill me. I don't see a lot of "extra" in my diet, or atleast there aren't any more empty calories, but I'm sure if I spent some time analyzing it what goes in I could make a few improvements. Like getting protein for breakfast instead of my dh's wonderful veggie packed low fat muffins.

I'm not on a precipice, just preparing for the next part of the hike.
