Default Fast Food Breakthrough!

Today something great happened to me-

I was walking from the parking lot across the street to my office, homemade salad for lunch in hand, when I walked passed a group of teenage boys. They were scarfing down Burger King food- fries, whoppers, the whole deal.

For the first time since I started working towards a healthy lifestyle, I was disgusted by fast food. The smell of their fried, greasy, mayo-laden meal almost made me nauseous. That crap isn't even food! I was (for once) happy to have my salad instead.

Considering I used to practically live on fast food, this is HUGE!

That's great! It's a great feeling when you realize that you could never go back to the way you used to eat!

That's awesome! Just remember that feeling to ride out a craving for fast food, if you ever get one.

It's awesome isn't it?!! I used to eat Burger King and McDonalds ALL the time, but now even the thought of eating it really makes my stomach turn! LOL I haven't touched the stuff in about 6 months and I really don't plan on it ever again!!

i find it interesting that you guys feel this way towards fast food. of course, i do find fast food gross because of the way it's made and stuff, but honestly, i really like fast food. it just tastes good. i just choose not to eat it because of the damage it can do. i havent had fast food in over a year, mostly because i read "fast food nation" but, still, when i see the commercials on tv, i'm like "yum!"

See I never was big into fast food so it wasn't hard to see it as gross. I don't think I've had a fast food burger in 6-7 years? and i hate it when the boys get cravings for taco bell or sonic because I don't really like any of it. I still see many other things like pizza and ice cream as "yummy" so I am not completely immune though!

I like fast food too, but only in moderation. If I eat too much of it, I feel gross. I do in general avoid fast food burgers though -- I always go for chicken sandwiches or chicken nuggets (not because they're healthier, but because I loooove chicken!). Jack in the Box is my fave fast food, but unfortunately there aren't any here in RI. Other "fast food" I will eat more often, like Boston Market, since I know it is healthier (not deep fried, etc).
