Tall plus size clothing?

  • I'm having a real problem finding pants that are sized tall AND plus sized. I need regular pants, NOT capris, because I can't wear capris to work.

I've tried Lane Bryant, Kohl's, Fashion Bug, and JCPenny's-- no luck getting things to fit right. I can't afford to spend $35 on a pair of pants, either.

    Where else should I try?
  • Have you tried Sears? I have a pair of pants from there that fit pretty well, and I *think* they carry plus sized tall. I'm average, so thats all I was looking for at the time, but I think they have tall.

And have you tried Old Navy? I don't know what size you wear, but they tend to run small, so if you're larger than an 18 their clothes may not fit. I had to buy 20's there when I was an 18, and they only go up to 20.

I just checked out The Avenue (avenue.com) and they have tall there too, but don't have much of a selection on the talls. I've never shopped there though.

  • I have to wear talls too, I shop at Goody's and believe it or not I have had some luck at Wal-Mart!
  • I have that problem also. I'm 5'10 so its hard finding pants with a 32' or 34' inseam but I have found bootcut jeans at WalMart.
  • How tall are you? I'm 6 feet tall and currently a size 18, and I've had pretty good luck at Lane Bryant. I need a 38 inch inseam so they're not *quite* long enough but the long pants there are at least long enough that I don't look ridiculous. I know you said you tried Lane Brant - are you looking for jeans or dress pants? Their dress pants are a lot harder to get a good fit with. I also wear a lot of skirts. Could you make do with skirts and hose?
  • And I've seen talls at Meijers. Our Meijers has an ok selection of plus size clothing, and I see you're in Ohio... I think Meijers is in Ohio too

  • Thanks for all the suggestions.

I wear a size 18, sometimes 20, tall. I'm 5'9", and average length pants just aren't long enough.

I'm looking for dress pants... not even that dressy, just pants, lol. I wear casual kinds of pants to work-- khakis, that sort of thing-- they just can't be denium or capris, per our dress code.

I do wear skirts and hose, but I'm down to two pairs of pants that still look decent enough to wear to work, and skirts aren't always practical for my job. (Activity Director in a nursing home.)

The Meijer stores here in Ohio have recently been redone, and their women's clothing section at my local store would literally fit in the trunk of my car now.

I'll check into some of the other places suggested- thanks!
