Unhealthy Foods You Dont Like?

  • Hi fellow FCUKers,

    I was moaning to Kim yesterday about all the temptation of Easter, and how hard it is to stay on track when the world is full of delicious goodies, and he said..."I know what you should do! You should only buy a) healthy foods that you like to eat, and b) unhealthy foods that you DON'T like to eat, so that by default you'll be eating healthy foods all the time!"

    Hmmm, that sounded like a good plan, until I tried to think of foods that are bad for me that I wouldn't be tempted to scoff if I came across them in the fridge or cupboard. It took me ages to think of even one thing ! I could think of plenty of healthy foods that wouldn't tempt me, but hardly any unhealthy foods.

    Eventually after much pondering I managed to come up with a list of 10 'bad' foods that I don't like (or that wouldn't tempt me) ...

    1) Cheese
    2) Sherry trifle
    3) Kentucky fried chicken pieces
    4) Steamed syrup sponge puddings
    5) Sausage rolls and meat pies
    6) Christmas pudding and brandy butter
    7) Pancakes
    8) Onion bhajis
    9) Greasy chips (though normal chips are a red light food for me)
    10) Continental chocolates

    Then I came up with my list of all time Top 10 Red Light Foods (that I simply CANNOT resist if I'm within 50 yards of them)...
    1) Roast potatoes
    2) Honey roast peanuts and cashews
    3) Fresh white or squidgy granary bread
    4) Banana flavour instant whip
    5) Maltesers
    6) Samosas
    7) Custard
    8) Chocolate chip icecream
    9) Chocolate shortbread
    10) Kettles crisps

    So that's me sorted! All I've got to do is stock up on cheese, meat pies and sherry trifle and this weight loss game will be easy!

    I thought I'd share this tip with you, and see if any of you were more successful than I was in coming up with 'bad' foods that you'd turn your nose up at!

  • sounds like a good idea, espeacialy for when im feeding my bf, im also curious to see how many bad foods i actualy dont like... here goes

    1)really hot curry
    2)bountys
    3)dark chocolate (altho thats kinda good for you)
    4)pork scratchings

    thats all i can think of i think, altho on the plus side some of my most favourite foods r healthy

    1)podded peas
    2)seafood

    and theres hardly ne healthy foods i dont like

  • Hmm bad food I don't like....

    I'm really not that bothered about cake Well I do like carrot, chocolate and birthday cake...

    I don't like popcorn

    Ooh onion bhajis yuck and samosas

    I used to dislike naan bread but I came to my senses

    All meat so that's mcdonalds kfc etc out for me

    My red light ones are wine and crisps
  • Hmm, need to think about this

    Naughties I don't like:
    Sausage rolls (in fact most savoury pastry - too greasy)
    Not mad on crisps anymore having eaten so few of them, now find them greasy too
    Doughnuts and not fussed on cream cakes (but love Danish pastries)


    Naughties I love:
    Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate - love it, trying just to eat darker choc, but love it all (except Bounty, cos I don't like coconut)
    Danish pastries
    Cheese
    Just baked crusty white bread, with butter (so thick you leave teeth marks!!)

    Healthy I love:
    Hoummous
    Oat cakes
    Porridge or muesli with fresh blueberries

    I'm sure there's loads more, but my minds gone blank & I'll spend the rest of the afternoon sitting here just thinking about it if I'm not careful.

  • 10 unhealthy foods I don’t like

    1. McD’s, BK burgers, cheeseburgers etc
    2. McD’s, BK fries
    3. McD’s, BK chicken nuggets (I don’t really like anything from these places)
    4. Gateaux (I like the taste but they make me feel sick after a couple of bites)
    5. Cheesecake (ditto)
    6. Pork pies
    7. Pork scratchings
    8. Saveloys
    9. All blue cheeses, also camembert & Brie
    10. Doner kebabs

    Top 10 red light foods
    1. Kettle crisps - my preferred binge item, but all crisps in general too.
    2. Ben & Jerrys ice cream
    3. Curries - I can make a lower fat version at home but it’s not the same.
    4. Chocolate
    5. Bread & butter pudding
    6 Cream tea, hard to resist if I’ve been out on a long walk somewhere and find a tea shop!
    7 Biscuits especially choc chip cookies
    8. Booze esp. wine - but I don’t drink any more.
    9. Shortbread
    10 Cheese apart from those listed above

    I found the red light foods list much easier to make than the foods I disliked list. Almonds and brazil nuts are also foods I can’t keep in the house, despite their nutritious image, because I’ll just eat the whole packet in one sitting.
  • Unhealthy foods that I don't like

    Hate Curries and spicy foods.

    Won't touch KFC..McD's..Burger King or Wendys I just don't go to fast food places and I definitely won't go to Wendy's now after seeing the news the other night a woman bit into her burger and spit out the tip of a human finger so me thinks that that is one fast food chain that will be a bit short of business from now on
    Can't think of owt else at the moment

    Healthy? foods that I like CAN'T THINK OF ONE!
  • Unhealthy food I hate:

    Cake
    Greasy chicken
    Bacon
    Potato chips
    Cookies
    Candy(If it isn't chocolate,I won't like it)


    Pretty much any fattening artificially sweetened snack.There's exceptions which I would list.

    Now for things I like.The unhealthy ones I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole anymore.Only rarely.

    Good ones:
    Asparagus
    Onions
    Spinach
    Cheese(I consider this healthy in moderation)
    Chicken breast,no skin or bread crust
    Brussels sprouts
    Spaghetti
    Broccoli

    I will love any vegetable,really.Especially weird vegetables that everyone hates!Except cucumber.Oh,and whether spaghetti and other pastas are healthy,I don't mind.I have a nice plate of those,don't do seconds.I can't say no to pasta.

    Bad ones:
    Sour cream(I still have this in small portions)
    Pie.Any kind of pie
    Cheesecake(my family doesn't get cheesecake often)
    Chocolate(we don't buy this anyways,most of the time)

    I find healthy foods really tasty,and prefer them over artificially sweetened and junky snack foods.
