In Praise of the New Lean Cuisine Line

  • Lean Cuisine has come out with a new line called Spa Cuisine, with 8 different dishes. My store currently carries 4 or 5 of them. The two I've tried so far are FABULOUS -- Lemongrass chicken and rosemary chicken. There's also one with salmon, one with pork, and the rest are chicken I think. The flavors are sophisticated and they are made with 100% whole grains. They are quite tasty and the nutritional profile is pretty darn good for processed food.

Let's make these popular so that they stick around!
  • I actually tried the pecan chicken meal the other day from the new spa cuisine. It was very tasty.
  • My store doesn't currently carry the pecan chicken, but I'm gonna make a formal request that they pick up all the ones from this line. And I KNOW I'd like pecan chicken.
  • I tried the Pecan Chicken and it was Marvelous!!!!!!!!!!
  • They converted my favorite Lean Cuisine dish, Chicken in Peanut Sauce, to the new Spa Cuisine line, and I have to admit that I don't like it has much as the old way. The noodles are now wheat and while that seems a good idea in theory, in practice they are more rubbery and detract from the dish. Just my own opinion. I haven't gotten a chance to try the other Spa Cuisines.
  • I like the salmon; yum!
  • They converted my favorite Lean Cuisine dish, Chicken Piccata, to the new Spa Cuisine line, and I have to admit that I love it even more b/c now it has brown rice.
  • do they have any coupons for them??
  • Occasionally they will have them in the Sunday paper.

Now they have the brown rice, I can only hope they will reduce the sodium.
  • I went grocery shopping and decided to pick up some Lean Cuisines for the first time. If I was running late for work I would have one for lunch, and on a day where my fiance cooks a fatty dinner, then I can have one. So, today was a "late" day, so I just grabbed one out of the freezer on my break. It was the Asian vegetable spring roll with long-grain rice. SOOOO GOOD!! It was so good, that it was almost sinful.
  • I had the new spa version of chicken in peanut sauce, and I liked it quite a bit. True, it takes some getting used to eating whole wheat pasta instead of white -- they're not "rubbery" just have more fiber and heft. Otherwise it tasted just like the old version to me.

Of the ones I've tried so far, the only one I wasn't wild about was the chicken pecan. It was OK, but just sort of "there" compared to the others, which are more flavorful.
