i just walked for 30 minutes at light/moderate intensity carrying 5 point weights in each hand - how many points does that buy me? for the same walk without the weights, it's 1 point. oh - and i weigh 192 pounds.
I won't figure it out for you but I will provide you with some formulas so you can figure it out and get a excellent close figure. You really should either get to a meeting, order the at home program or join online so you have all the tools at your disposal to make your weight loss journey as easy as possible:
Light Activity (you can talk and sing):
Weight X Minutes X .000232 = Activity Points
Moderate Activity (you can talk but no sing):
Weight X Minutes X .000327 = Activity Points
High Activity (you need deep breaths to talk):
Weight X Minutes X .0008077 = Activity Points
thanks for the reply kelly - i am regularly attending meetings as part of the commitment plan. i appreciate your help with the formulas - i just wanted to know if anyone had a simple answer to adding weights into my regular workout.
Weights won't add anything to just walking really. Just makes you heavier.
To do weights look up and find out how to do things like:
tricep press
bicep curls
lateral pull downs
chest press
leg press
leg curls
This is what will help elongate and strengthen the muscles.
