FIrst try to exercise daily. If your not ready to commit to that then first work on your diet. Make sure you plan an effective diet that you will stick to. What I mean by this is that you don't go on a diet with only salad just because it's effective. Make sure you're eating healthy while knowing fully well you'll be able to stick to the diet. Once you've gotten used to your diet, and see some results you can start to exercise. With the same thinking for the diet choose an exercise or sport that you will stick to because you like. If you like water try swimming, if you like being in nature, go running, hiking, or biking. You can look into different sports as well, soccer, basketball, etc. Hope that helps.
