I'm in the same boat to be honest. I drop a bit of weight only to have it come back on again. My biggest issue at the moment is motivation. With the new year I might get a few weeks when I'm really dedicated but after a while I always slip up. I also don't think I could try that water fast because I get sooooo hungry. I've been looking around and I found a free ebook which talks about a tea which can help detox you, burn fat and, importantly for me, stop you getting those hunger cravings. Has anyone heard of this? I found it on a site called Magicweightlosstea.com. Just wondering if you guys have tried it and if it really does all it says?
Hello! I'm going to just randomly jump in on a conversation....
I've recently done a 48-hour water fast, which I broke only for New Year's Day. This time last year I would never have considered a water fast in any way helpful. However a few months ago I stumbled upon the ideas of keto, (intermittent) fasting, ketosis, autophagy, and so on. I never do things quickly so it was a while before I even started to try and narrow my eating window; last Saturday evening I just thought: I'll go without food and see how my body reacts.
(My BMI and body fat % are such that I really wasn't going to be in danger of anything approaching starvation!)
I did experience some hunger pangs around the times that I would normally eat - but only in the first 24 hours. Each time I asked myself if I was actually hungry, and the answer was no, so I'd have some water or green tea and just do something else.
I personally wouldn't shell out for anything special, teas or otherwise. I think it'd be good to 'work up' to a fast of 24 hrs or longer by doing some kind of IF for a few days. I'm pretty sure that whilst your body has switched into fat burning then it's plenty good at not letting you feel hungry until a moment when it really wants some food.
This is just my opinion from a small amount of experience, so if you don't like it feel free to ask for your money back!
