Default Boot Camp Challenge-Day 11

Good morning, troops! Glad to see the weekend obstacles are proving no challenge for you.

Tomorrow starts our weeklong "Think Thin Challenge," and we will be examining the attitudes and habits of people who don't have a weight problem. The goal is to find out WHY some people don't have a weight problem and to see if there are behaviors we can emulate or attitudes we can adopt to help us achieve our goals.

Of course, the ongoing challenge of making healthy choices (the trinity) will continue this week! You didn't think we would slack off, did you?

I am adding an additional challenge for myself: HIDE the scale this week! While I honestly don't let the metal monster rule my moods, I find myself hopping on it far too often. It is hard to see any changes when you weigh yourself numerous times a day! I am close to hitting a "decade" mark...going from the 170s to the 160s, and need to concentrate on healthy behaviors and not that fact. Any of you scale junkies are more than welcome to join me. I think I will ask my DH to hide the silly thing, if I can explain why!

I am sorry to report that I did not master the trinity yesterday. Water-check. Food-check. Exercise-Nope. I will count that as my day off and get busy today. Scout's honor.

I will be tallying activity minutes for the week starting today as well. We had about 900 minutes for last week but that was not a full week, so I KNOW we can easily top that figure this week! I will try and post each day's total in the next day's post so we can all see the numbers climb.

So, let's get geared up for the coming week! Healthy attitude-check! Healthy habits-check! Healthy lifestyle-check and double check! And don't forget to study some "thin thinking!"

Captain franny, private 2dog reporting in! I've been AWOL for a couple of days (from the computer, not from SBD....well, not completely from SBD anyway ), life got in the way of my computer time.

I love the idea of thinking like a thin person!! I can't wait to start this challenge this week. I truly believe that will make such a huge difference, not only in weight loss efforts, but also in the long run, for keeping the weight off and maintaining a healthier lifestyle...after all, that's what this is all about!

As for exercise, I ordered a set of three WATP tapes from Amazon, and they will be here tomorrow (I've been tracking them on the 'net). Also, yesterday I ordered the FIRM Body Sculpting System 2. So I figure I'll be all set, and won't have any excuse not to work out. I have done my Pilates tape a couple of times, but need to go buy a better mat, because the one I have isn't thick enough to be just on a wood floor, and it hurts my back and tailbone to try to do some of the exercises. But I am committed to doing this...so here I go...... Now I just have to convince my dogs that when Mom lays on the floor to try to work out, it's not an invitation for them to kiss my face or pile on top of me!!!

at twodogmom. My Girls think that the WATP is a time to jump up and play with me.

Yesterday was not a Trinity day for me as it was dim sum deviance day BUT I did drink a fair amount of water and walked over 8000 steps - although it was more of an amble as we poked into the ethnic shops along the route.

I am going to weigh tomorrow morning to see what damage was done by my weekend deviance and then will take the battery out of the scale for the week. DH will hide it for me! I'm a real scale addict so will probably go into withdrawal by Wednesday!

Did manage to drink my water and exercise yesterday but last night we went out for Chinese and I ate WAY too much ...

I will NOT weigh this week ... won't even look at the scale. I have a love/hate relationship with the stupid thing anyway (of course loving it when my weight is down and hating it when I gain 1/2 pound) ... I'll wait til next Sunday.

I'm also going to try cook all my lunches and freeze them for the week ... it's so much easier to stay op when I'm at work ... no late night nibbling cuz I'm in bed by 10 ...

Have a good afternoon everyone!!!

I WILL NOT WEIGH MYSELF THIS WEEK! I took the batteries out of the scale. (thanks, Ruth)

Another good day...even managed to stay OP at the Popcorn Festival and just ate a piece of grilled chicken. Bought myself a little knit tank top from S. America instead of feeling bad about missing all the junk food. Actually didn't want it too much...just watching DD eat a funnel cake was enough for me!

I did the 4 mi WATP Express tape but used my Powerbelt through most of it...I am going to check into the WATP Abs tapes and see if I can use my belt instead of the cheap rubber thingie that comes with it. Anyone have experience with those tapes?

I'll be back tomorrow with the first day of our "Think Thin Challenge," so tune in then, recruits!

WATP (Walk Away The Pounds) is a series of in-home walking tapes by Leslie Sansone. There are several series available: Express is just one of them. So far I have the WATP 1, 2, & 3 mile tapes, and the WATP Express 4 mile tape. The regular WATP series uses 2 pound weights...the Express series doesn't...at least the 4 mile tape doesn't. These tapes are WONDERFUL if you, like me, are choreographically challenged (2 left feet! )
but still want to work up a sweat. Collagevideo.com has a ton of Leslie Sansone videos, with streaming video "samples" of all of the tapes that they sell. I go there to shop then usually elsewhere to spend ( shame on me!)

Let me know if you have any other questions!
