I am on the countdown for my trip to California. Exactly one week from today I will be on the plane ready for take off. I go back to the restaurant Friday so I must plan my week very carefully, both with food choices and everything else.
I did manage some good rest last night so I’m going to wake up slowly and face the day. I’m not sure exactly what’s on the agenda yet but I think I have a general idea. I think I will start in the house for a little bit then move out to the yard. I have a smoothie made already which is a good thing. I think I will still work on meals from the freezer although I need to go down to the grocery store and stock up on some miscellaneous veggies.
Beth, I am remembering how much I and we all love your blueberries. My raspberries do well but I haven’t had too much success with blueberries yet. Actually, no success. LOL
We got back last night around 8 p.m. then had to unpack. The house didn't look too bad since I cleaned it before leaving for the weekend. Had wonderful time but food choices were so so so scale is up 3 lbs so will have to watch what I eat this week. Today I need to do laundry and DD1 and I are going to go on hike somewhere haven't decided where yet. So glad I have today off before going back to work tomorrow. We watched the Washington Memorial service last night it was good.
Debbie sounds like your town is very lovely right now, glad you are not missing it.
Beth your garden sounds great, I am to lazy to keep up with a garden, we used to have one. I can barely keep up with the weeds in the yard.
I have been to the grocery store and back; we just needed a few veggies and some dairy items. I think I will clean inside the house until lunch and then work outside afterwards.
Rose, glad you had a good trip. It's nice you have a day to recover before going back to work. I am really enjoying the 4 day weekend (we added an unused snow day to give us Friday off)
Debbie, sounds like another busy week for you but you seem to manage it all well.
Been a busy day at work, winding down now. Nothing planned on the agenda for this evening, DH is going to a baseball game, I am not going. Hope your day has been going well.
Checking in . A busy day getting all loose ends tied up before I head to the restaurant on Friday. I think I’m almost there. Heading to the post office then maybe an afternoon nap.
I know we are a small group here at the moment. I’m committed to regular posting. O know although I don’t discuss food too much it keeps me focused on staying on track. Thanks to all who are still posting.
Hey chicks. We have gone straight to summer here; highs in the mid to upper 80s both yesterday and today. On Monday DH grilled enough for 2 dinners and tonight it was pork chops in the pressure cooker. I'm trying not to turn on the oven for a few days. I've also been enjoying my iced coffee again. DH got me a carafe that has a filter; you fill it with ground coffee and leave it in the fridge for 12-24 hours. I figure making my own iced drinks with NS syrup is a big win over buying those sugar-laden temptations!
Debbie, you've been around here longer than me but I find it interesting how our numbers ebb and flow. Thanks for the encouragement.
Rose, hope you had a good day too.
This month is going to wrap up with me just maintaining but perhaps I can lose a pound or two in June. It's always a struggle.
Our temps have finally dropped back into the 80's, Memorial weekend felt more like July 4th weekend, it was a scorcher. I have managed to lose 2 lbs from what I gained at the wedding last weekend. I will finish the month a couple of lbs lighter, but have noticed much toner arms due to all of my workouts, exceeded my workout goal for May.
Debbie and Beth I agree our numbers ebb and flow but this is like a life line to me that makes me feel accountable so I will keep on posting as well. I do miss a lot of the people that have left.
We have high humidity and heat today which made for an uncomfortable work day. Right now I am trying to psych myself up to exercise or at least walk; we shall see what happens....supposedly we will get thunderstorms tonight and slightly cooler weather this weekend.
Pearlrose, great job on losing and on the workout schedule! It is always nice to see progress. Hope your workday was productive.
Debbie, back to the restaurant; hoping it was lucrative!
I think it will be chicken fajitas tonight, but with no tortilla for me. I've been craving Mexican food.
What a long short week, I have been woke up twice this week at 2:30 a.m. due to issues at work which makes for very long days, repeated last night so dragging a bit today. I am praying this weekend is quiet, we have a huge cutover to a new system for two of our biggest hospitals and hoping they don't mess with any of the other systems. Enough work talk, I am going to try and fit a work in today somewhere and quite work after my last conference call if possible.
Debbie hope you made bank at the restaurant
Beth I am assuming you don't have AC at the school then?
There is thunder rumbling outside right now. The predicted storms did not come last night and it was very humid all day today. I came home and made myself workout, now I am enjoying the AC as I type.
New month, new resolve. Last summer my weight crept up and I had to battle it back down during August; I need to do better this year. I must learn to pick my indulgences; I certainly don't have any lack of opportunity to eat!
Pearlrose, we do not have AC at school. We have such a short portion of the school year when it is hot that the expense is probably not worth it. Next week we are slated for low 60s. You and I had the same issue this week with work keeping us up; I woke up early 2 mornings we my todo list whirling in my head.
Debbie, hope it was a good work day!
If we get a downpour it will spare me from watering the veggie garden, which I would like. I plan on spending time weeding the flower beds this weekend.
So got woke up again at 1:30 a.m. for issue at work, lasted an hour and then went back to bed. (Mind you DD2 is still awake downstairs, I went to bed at 9 p.m. lol) I slept in til 7:30 a.m. this morning definitely needed it. Just ate breakfast and getting ready to do some yoga. Today need to clean the house and DD2 and I need to go pedi's ours look bad and we leave on June 10th for Florida. Tonight DH and I are going to see Dierks Bentley in concert. So full day ahead
Beth I can understand the schools not wanting to spent money on AC but yikes that makes for a hot uncomfortable day for all. Glad your weather is going back down, ours is climbing back into the 90s full swing summertime.
The thunderstorms moved through last night and today will be a pleasant 70-something day. I am doing laundry and such this morning; after lunch things should be dry enough for DH to mow and me to weed and trim. The next few weeks are my favorite times for the flower beds. I have all types of things blooming and the intense rainbow of colors is much appreciated after the black and white of winter!
Rose, I love Dierks Bentley; enjoy the concert! Glad you got to sleep in after your restless night.
Debbie, hope you have a good day at restaurant.
Ruth, hope life in Delta is the good kind of busy!
I am home from the restaurant and I stopped at the laundromat but will head back down there shortly. I am the cleaner tomorrow morning and I wanted to get the quarters restocked. Had a little glitch that I needed to come home for. Work tomorrow then my flight leaves from Denver at 7:45 AM Monday morning. Have a few loose ends to tie up still.
Beth, your flowers and beautiful! My new bed from last year is blooming quite nicely but I haven’t done a lot of other planting since I’m going to be away for the week.
Rose, have fun at the concert tonight! It should be a good one! I watch for two nights in a row getting called in the middle of the night. Hope tonight is better.
OK. I switched shoes which always helps and i’d better keep moving.
Just thought I’d say good Sunday morning! I am ready to face the day. Sometimes I get a little bummed out at all the crap but recognized this morning that a food plan sure helps. I still weigh myself every morning and I’ve managed to keep the 5 pounds off that I lost during my mini cleanse. That’s good news as I Headed to California. Have a great day everyone!
Managed to get a full night's sleep with no interruptions, yeah! The concert was great though we got rained on, we had seats not lawn seats but we were 2 rows from being under the overhang, it was still a great concert though. I did accomplish all of my cleaning and laundry yesterday as well. Today DH wants to go to Six Flags for a bit, I will go so I can get a bit of a base tan before we leave next Sunday for Florida. We will do a grocery run on the way home.
Debbie glad you are getting everything done prior to leaving, I hope you have a safe trip to CA and that your brother is doing better.
