Hello all - I am a newbie
second "attempt" at low-carb (i say attempt very loosely, i think i did Atkins for about 3 days and then tried to eat Low-Carb bars for about 1 week, gained a lot of weight b/c of it, and quit!)
i'm just about to start week 2 of Phase I and so far I've lost about 6-7 pounds! woo hoo!
little background: 26 yrs old, getting married March 13, 2004 - alright!! trying to lose about 20 pounds before the "plunge"
highest weight ever is about 210 (about 6 yrs ago) - had some health problems and got it down to about 175...
been bouncing between 175-185 since then
right now I am at 171 (started at 180 in Feb.)
hoping to get down to about 155-160 (size 8/10) - right now I am about a size 12
I'm really thinking this is the way to go - I never would have thought I could go 2 weeks with bread or (gasp!) chocolate (double gasp!!), but so far so good...
I always thought it was my b.c. that was causing me not to lose weight...hmmm...
anyway, good luck to all!
