Default Oa & ww

hi i am in weight watchers and tend to go up and down in weight, never losing consistently. i need to lose about 40 lbs. ive tried OA and felt it was very rigid but currently WW is not enough.

what do others do if they are still overeating in WW alone? can you do WW and OA? what other options are available?

I am doing therapy and WW and need to add something since thats not holding me and helping me stay not over eating.

I think you can absolutely do OA and WW. OA is not a prescribed diet plan, it is about working the steps...which would involve eating healthy. WW is about eating healthy and choosing wisely. I would think that both of them would go nicely hand in hand.
OA shouldnt be " rigid" since they offer not set diet plan, and you take what you need and leave the rest.
I think overeating is possible on any diet plan...any diet will work if you stick to it.
what is bothering you about WW--the choices? Do you need a more rigid diet plan? or does that act as a trigger? ie too much control

Hi There. I'm a long time OA'er, and have been on WW in the past, and am about to re-join come the New Year. The question: can you do OA and WW together could probably be answered a hundred different ways with different perspectives. IMO, yes you most definitely can. They have OA HOW (which has a set meal plan) and a more strict version of OA called OA Grey Sheet. BUT, traditional OA is not like that at all. There's what's called the "dignity of choice" food plan. Which basically is you define your own 'abstinence'. That's what I do. My 'abstinence' has also looked different at different times throughout my journey. The important part is rigorous honesty about food, behaviors, etc. That's one reason having a sponsor is very important. Accountability. Support.

A while back I saw a dietician. I'm recovered from Anorexia and Bulimia now for 11 years. I was doing WW at this point b/c I had gained weight, and my dietician said that out of all of the weight loss plans out there, she is most pleased/impressed with WW. And this was coming from a dietician's mouth!

Anyway, sorry this has become long. I'm glad you are here at 3FC. I'm about to friend add you. If you ever want to talk, feel free to private message me
