Default Beach Chat - Week of September 12th to 16th

Well things are nicely cooled off this morning. Time to dig out a warmer robe for dog duty. (I usually watch them in their yard from the deck so I can put the kibosh on any early morning barking.)

A quick start to the day since I will be driving Joanne's two kids to school and have to put my Focus back into passenger mode. Right now the seats are flipped down and it's fill of schoolwork, quilts and bread delivery boxes! When I have dropped them off in the enxt town, I'll hit the bank machine and then go to the hall for coffee. The summer folk have gone back to their real lives so it should be fairly quiet. Then the rest of the day is mine!

What's up with you today?

Good morning Ruth, glad you have a relatively quiet day on the horizon.

This morning I am off to "boobie Doctor" for my last six month check up. My scans this summer were good, very cystic breasts, but all normal so I get a one year reprieve after this visit. Yippee!!!! When I get home later I plan on going for a nice bike ride as it is very fall like here. I am going to make "unstuffed cabbage" for my meal of the week. Joe and I took a nice ride to Tannersville yesterday (by car not bicycle) The falls were very dry and a lot of erosion but still quite picturesque. We went to his favorite Mexican restaurant. I did fairly well with my choices, no appetizer or dessert, but stil not weighing myself today. A little extra water and some serious cardio should do the trick. DS should b picking up his new used car after work today. I may need to help shuffle cars with him later. Tomorrow it's back to a busy week at work, but vacation is on the horizon for the end of the month. Yippee!!!

I actually have goosebumps this morning.....soon it will be fleece season, my favorite!!!!

Good morning,

Quick check in for me, getting ready to leave for work. It has a cooled a bit as well here, loving it. It was a lovely day to go to the lake yesterday and DD2 friends whole family decided they wanted to be baptized so that was nice for them.

Nothing on the agenda this evening.

Ruth enjoy your day.

Jekel I ate mexican food yesterday as well but avoided the chips and made good choices but I could taste all of the salt in the food lol.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning!

I'm headed out the door just wanted to say hi. I think the hummingbirds are gone. I saw a few on Saturday. Yesterday I was headed to pick up Kirby from day care. It was very touching; outside the Elks club there was a giant flag strung between two fire trucks. A nice remembrance. Take care all!

Happy Monday!

Evening, chicks!

Lovely fall day here as well; mid 70s and no humidity. I'll take 6 weeks of this, please.

Busy day at school (always) but DH is out grilling some burgers for our dinner. Yum.

Debbie, I just bought a hummingbird feeder on sale but there is no point in putting it out until spring. I looked up some information on their migration patterns; it is AMAZING what those little guys do!

Jennifer, I made sure to take an extra long walk this weekend; wish I could have fit it in today.

Have a great evening everyone!

Happy Tuesday! Another summery day after a cool one yesterday. I did get the Mill banking done but forgot to get the money for the school fair prizes. That's on today's schedule along with some odds and sods of shopping that will mean a trip to town. (I avoided it because of the school supplies shoppers last week.) I did make and freeze a yummy fresh tomato sauce using cherry tomatoes, green onions and garlic and basil picked just behind the barn. Nice to have some produce after this hot dry summer. The mega-storm did take down a pair of trees on the edge of my land and also opened up two of Jazz's escape routes - two farm gates that are now wired back in place.

Beth, I may buy a hummingbird feeder when I shop today. I have not seen a hummer all summer, and that's probably why. Duh! I absolutely love grilled burgers but never bother doing one for me.

Debbie, I too am amazed and the distance those little feathered jewels fly each year. There is a hummingbird migration site that I follow every spring and they seem to arrive here by Mother's Day every year.

Jennifer, congrats on the boob squish for another year. I love Mexican food too but avoid it because of the salt. What are your holiday plans?

Rose, a lake baptism is how it should be! Even the Anglicans are starting to lean that way around her. We are the Township of Rideau Lakes.

Have a delightful Tuesday and stay out of any major trouble.

Beth I love grilled burgers but don't like doing the grilling lol

Jekel did your DS get his car picked up?

Evening chicks

Pearlrose I hope your back starts to loosen up soon. DS should hopefully have the car tomorrow or Thursday. Found out today the bank did not wire the money last week. Supposedly it was rectified today. You can imagine how impatient he is getting.

Ruth your sauce sounds delicious!!! My "holiday" is going to visit my mom and my Aunt Gail who will be there too. She is going to 82 next month. This is her first trip to see my mom since she moved to Virginia. My mom has lived there for 15 years!!! Needless to say my aunt really doesn't like to or does much traveling. She is content staying in her little town of DeQueen Arkansas, population approximately 4000. On my return, I am going to meet Tammy for lunch. She has already picked a great spot for us to go. I think Tammy and Linda went there too. It's the place with the decadent homemade soups. I am really excited to meet her

Beth I love a good burger too!!! Ruth being alone I have no problem turning on the grill for just me. I actually find when I eat what I enjoy I stay OP better. Beth hope you got outside today as it was another keeper.

After work today I hung two curtain rods / curtains in my "workout room." I want to make it "pretty" before the winter comes to make me want to spend time in there. Otherwise just getting my squats in and calling it a day. I hope to ride tomorrow after work. Thursday I need to get my bike prepped for another long ride on Friday. We are riding out to Montauk again. This time with friends from the Police Unity Tour. Weather looks perfect, so keep your fingers crossed it stays that way.

Well the furry ones are calling me. Have a good night.

Evening, chicks.

Another busy day at school with a meeting afterwards; came home to sneak in my workout. Tomorrow is our open house at school so I will probably take the day off, unless I can get a quick walk in.

Ruth, the secret is to cook a few things wen you grill; we always try to make 2-3 meals worth of food since we use charcoal and it seems a waste to just do a steak or burger.

Pearlrose, hope your back feels better soon.

Jennifer, your biking trip sounds awesome! Hope you have good weather.

Debbie, what's this week's project? You always seem to have a few going!

Have a good evening.

A rather late good morning for me on Hump Day! I actually slept from 9 last night to 6:45 this morning. Very unusual for me and feels good. I think I may be overcoming my long-standing sleep deficit.

Having posting problems today so I won't linger but have a great day. I may be back later when the problem is resolved.

Good Morning!

Ruth, great news on sleep!

Pearlrose, I hope your back is better.

Beth, cool on the hummingbird feeder. I will take mine down very soon.

Jennifer, how was your bike ride? Exciting to get to visit your family AND Tammy!

I've been up taking care of some chores. Listed some stuff on the FB garage sale. Stashed some of the food I bought at Costco.
It's rainy and cool here. I'll go sit outside anyway. My girlfriend asked me to ride down to Denver w/her. Think I may. Otherwise, nothing exciting. OK, time for more coffee!

Happy Wednesday.

Good morning,

I am having problems trying to post to this site this morning. I am wfh today because my back is still tight and I can do exercises in between working to keep it stretched out, not sure if it was interval jog or core work that tweaked so stopped those.

Ruth glad your sleep patterns are getting better

Jekel when do you leave for your trip? Exciting getting to meet Tammy.

Beth hope school goes by quickly for you.

Debbie enjoy your time iwth your firend.

Everyone have a great day.

Hey chicks! Just a quick hello; I have to be back at school in an hour for Open House. I really like getting it out of the way early in the year. Other than that, not much to say. DH made extra burgers the other night so he can grab one of those while I am gone.

Hooray for sleeping in , Ruth! Did you get storms last night? We had a couple of big t-storms.

Debbie, we are bulk warehouse shoppers too but sometimes it is hard to stash everything when you first bring it home!

Pearlrose, sorry to hear about your back but it's nice you can wfh and stretch it from time to time.

Jennifer, when you do go on your trip?

Okay, have to run. Happy Peak of the Week, chicks!

Just a quick pop in. I leave for VA on the 25th. My bike ride is Friday. It poured here when I got home from work so no ride nor did I clean it. Guess tomorrow I'll clean in. At least I have my stuff ready, except for my bike / snack bag.

Good morning,

I am wfh today but am going to one of the Hospitals for a meeting this afternoon, it's on my side of the river so made more sense to go from home. My back is almost 100% better so will baby it again today and then should be back to normal. I do have a nasty looking bruise on my inner upper arm and is it bad that I don't remember bumping it into something but I must have lol.

Jennifer hope you get your bike ready today and have fun tomorrow on the bike ride.

Have a great day everyone!
