I am struggling with what to eat - apart from increasing my veg and fruit intake, I was told to avoid all pasta, breads, rice, etc which I struggle with esp pasta. I have tried brown rice which I don't like.
I am not the biggest fish eater and am quite fussy. I have reduced my coffee and soft drink in take (Maybe once a week now instead of everyday) but I am not that creative with food and struggle to keep things interesting.
Fad stuff doesn't appeal as I struggle to stay on the wagon.
Any suggestions or tips as to what everyone found worked well??
I know what you mean - I gave up wine for 90 days once and I dropped about 10 lbs without changing a single other thing in my diet.
But what I eventually realized is that it wasn't just the absence of wine that made me lose weight - it was all the food I was eating with it! So now I drink a glass or two of wine without the chips chasers and it's working okay for me.
To the OP - you'll get all kinds of answers here, but ultimately you have to find the plan that works for you. What is working for me right now is just not eating anything at all for most of the day - I eat one meal and fast for up to 23 hours a day (but usually 22 - I sort of spread out my OMAD for two hours).
Thanks everyone! I'm trying to find my own way of what works best, and loads of people have suggested this and that, but I struggle with the idea of removing certain foods altogether as I find I want it more lol. Who doesn't? I've done well with reducing alcohol (Purely because I live in Qatar, and access to alcohol is very limited and / or very expensive) plus soft drinks rarely appear on my food plan, so I try for moderation of foods so I don't go without and then have OTT cravings and just eat pizza every day lol. Thanks for your replies!
I basically eat what I want but I keep it to small portions and within my calorie allowance. I've also given up certain foods (chips, cheesies, pizza, fries, etc) and only drink water, juices (not every day) and 1 or 2 cups of unseetened tea daily. Water is my main beverage and the colder the better.
Once a month, I will treat myself to ONE cookie from Tim Hortons, once a year on my birthday I get to have a cupcake or a slice of cake and some ice cream and Christmas day is a free for all. Those are my set in stone dieting rules.
I also go easy on the salt and do not add sugar to anything.
What works for me is not eating dairy and gluten. Just cutting those already made a big difference. I do eat potato, white rice and corn but not a lot. A meal plate for me would be 50% vegetables, 30% fish or meat and 20% carbs. I love mashed potato, I now make that with oat milk and coconout oil instead of milk and butter.
I also avoid sugar. I do eat fruit but no sweets or things that have sugar added. Xylitol is in my opinion the best sweetener out there.
What fat to cook or bake in is also important. For example olive oil is good when cold (like over a salad or somehing) but when you bake in it, it heats too much, transforming the molecules and makes you gain weight. The best fat to heat is coconut oil.
Processed and instant foods are the worst enemy. There's always sugar in it and a lot of preservatives that make your digestion go slower. I's best to always cook food from fresh or frozen vegetables. I usually cook a big pan of something so that I can eat from it for 2 or 3 days.
I also had a hard time trying to adapt to the diet habits and I should say it was real hard. Whenever I find something I liked I just pop it in my mouth, the fries and stuff. And after I strictly said to my mind no junks and you are not going to get tempted into eating those at sight. I did a general search and for what not to eat and found those things which we should kick out.
I have to know that red vine vinegar is good for diet? Is it a fat burner? If is it how can I use it? Any recipepls ? Pls help me.... am struggling to loss weight loss... coz I have jst 7 months for my wedding. I wish I could loss 10 or 15 kg 🤔
cutting down the snacks which you eat can make a difference. I used to eat those like chips and stuffs and found a great difference when I stopped having it.
