I am up, but barely. I didn't feel like waiting for coffee so reheated a cup of yesterday's. I'm sitting on the porch with the puppy. It's a little chilly still is shaping up to be a beautiful day.
The concert was great Thursday night but I didn't crawl in bed till after midnight. I set the alarm for 5 AM and had to go right to work. I did great at work but was super tired when I got home . I lay down and set the alarm again for 6:30 PM and went to an AA meeting. I haven't been for a while. It was nice to see friends. I have today off then go back to work tomorrow. Today I have to go deal with the rental. That means hauling up cleaning supplies, vacuum and carpet cleaner. I have two big items that have to go to the landfill. I think I'll get on the Facebook garage sale site and see if somebody wants to make $50 to haul them away. It's always something. I asked my neighbor boy last evening and he said he'd let me know around 11 AM. He may need to work with his dad. I think I'll try to find somebody else to hold the stuff so it gets done for sure and if Josh can work we can haul some brush to the landfill. Well that is today's excitement.
Heading into a hectic weekend that starts with the final job interview this morning. Then the furries are off to 4PAWS Inn for an overnight while I head to the Hyper Pypers for a shower and an overnight for me.
On Sunday, I'll pick up luncheon groceries on the way back BEFORE I get the dogs. Groceries for 60 takes up a lot of room! Yesterday I visited a wholesale food supplier and bought peeled, cored, sliced apples for the apple crisp dessert for half what fresh apples would cost! Sure saved a lot of work! I'll still have to go into overdrive Monday and Tuesday to get ready for the big event Wednesday. that I have enough volunteers to plate and serve ... and clean up after, of course.
Time to crank up the day. The dogs are back in bed - they love the new big pillowy bed from Costco. I feel like joining them as Book Club was late last night.
Debbie I guess the tenant finally left. That is good news. Sorry about the extra work though. Glad you enjoyed the concert.
Ruth will you have the groceries in the car with the pups? You may need to get them treats of their own or they might eat the lunchroom food lol. That's great about the apples.
Rainy morning so I'll ride inside today and get a few little things done here. I bought a beautiful sweaters bonnet and boogie crocheted set from the nuns yesterday. Graymoor in Garrison is a Catholic retreat that also houses a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. The grounds are absolutely lovely. They have a really nice gift shop with a large supply of handmade baby items. The nuns are really talented! I have ordered the crib bedding from my niece's registry. Hope I have enough wrapping paper for both.
Nicole I hope you check in and let us know how the interview went.
Otherwise same old same old here. Have a great day.
Good morning, chicks. We are overcast right now, but it is supposed to clear up so I am hoping to take an outside walk and putter around the yard some more. There's always plenty of stuff to do outside at this time of year.
Ruth, enjoy your visit. Nice score on the luncheon food. Fingers crossed you have plenty of help.
Debbie, that was a long day! But I would love to see them in concert also; I especially like their Christmas music. Good luck with all your chores today and may you get a good night's sleep tonight!
Jennifer, the baby items sound lovely. Is today your day off? When is your first bike event?
Think it's time for more coffee. Have a great day, chicks.
Spent last evening in the ER, DD2 fell down a hill and we were not sure if she just sprained or broke her ankle as it was really swollen and she couldn't put weight on. Thank goodness it's just a sprain and hopefully after 5 days of no weight on ankle she should be good to go for at least walking slowly.
Plan today is to clean house and maybe do some weeding outside. DH bought a new pool and he is already filling it up (does he think it's summer We will stick close to home since DD2 should be resting and elevating and has to deal with crutches.
Debbie sounds like the concert was good. Sorry you have to deal with the rental hope you get all the help you need to deal with it
Ruth that is a lot of food, great deal on the apples
Jekel those baby clothes sound lovely. Answer to your question will I still be able to wfh- Yes, probably more than I do now, I will only have to go in for certain meetings since now I will not be doing any more interviews or have to do staff functions (I getting rid of the people manager side of things (other than 1 person) to concentrate on processes and process improvement).
Beth enjoy your day and I hope you get to spend a lot of time outside
Pearl - So sorry to hear about your daughter. Hope she heals up quick.
Beth - Answering you from yesterday, don't worry you did not make me feel bad. You gave me hope Mon and Tuesday while I recover i am going to re- read the SB book.
Last night the seder went well. I only strayed from SB to have a bit of matzoh for the actual seder. Not eating dessert was very difficult but I did it. I am going through my mom's crystal and china and finding all sorts of glasses and interesting looking pieces. Now I just need to get a curio and I will be set Tonight is another seder and hoping I can still pull off eating well. I may bring a piece of dark chocolate so I do not feel completely deprived.
Good morning.....I wonder if Ruth got rowdy with the Pypers last night.
Beth I leave Monday May 9th. Can't wait as I really just need a change of scenery. Hope you spent your days off outside.
Pearlrose how is DD feeling today?
Nicole you did great!!! I have a baby shower today. No clue what will be on the menu. Hopefully nothing too off plan. Yesterday I ate way too much so I do need to be better today.
Nicole - aren't you proud of yourself not eating dessert?!? I would often have dark chocolate instead. I think that's phase II, but close enough for a special occasion .
Pearl - how's your DD's foot today?! Bummer. I rolled mine for the first time....probably 5 years ago now, I can retweak it a little now (well not anymore, LOL). She's young so hopefully she won't have the same issue. That's awesome you won't have to do interviews anymore, I know how much you LOVE doing those!!
Jennifer- the baby items sound beautiful!!
Ruth - do you get any free time today?
Beth - it was beautiful here yesterday after it cleared, how 'bout there?
Debbie - I hope you get some time to yourself today
My dear, wonderful, thoughtful, caring daughter shared me her cold! I haven't had a cold since before surgery(!!!!), which was 12/14. She's giving me an excuse not to go to church today, she sounds like she has the croup with her cough although it sounds better than it did at 4 am. She acts *just fine* though!
Otherwise, it looks like a beautiful day out! DH and DD are doing the Out of the Darkness walk for suicide prevention awareness with the neighbor today. I'm hoping DS does it too, to get him out and doing something. I actually have 4 things on the board for meals planned out, so I think I'll do the crockpot beef today .
I hope everyone's day looks as pretty there as it does here!
I'm running behind. Got up a little late this morning. Have my smoothie stuff set out still need to make it and get the pup ready for daycare. My back is a little tired from yesterday's efforts. The rental is clean. I got the couch without the cushions to a new home. The big box was disassembled by someone who took it away and they took the food from the refrigerator. All that's left is a slow-moving sink in the bathroom. I was going to take the plunger today hope I have time to find it.
Pearlrose, I hope DD is doing better today and that she heals quickly.
Good morning, chicks! I've been doing my Sunday morning breakfast prep: PB ricotta muffins for DH, quiche for me. (Nicole, I generally use the weekend to make the week's breakfast items: quiche, muffins, Kalyn's egg cups, etc. The PB ricotta muffins are Phase 1 (and DH's favorite), I have a P2 recipe using pumpkin and cranberries that is my favorite. ) I did laundry and groceries yesterday, but spent much of the afternoon with a book... So I think today will be the DH and I transplant a few trees. We have some seedlings that came up on their own and are too crowded; with the price of buying trees we figured it was worth the effort to try to move these, even if they don't all survive.
Jennifer, enjoy the shower. I've got faith in your ability to make smart food choices.
Debbie, what a productive day! Hope work is smooth for you.
Tammy, hope you and DD feel better. I need to plan out a few menus also.
Nicole, bringing chocolate is a great idea. I often travel with SF cocoa packets to stave off feeling deprived.
Debbie - Good luck with finishing the rental. It sounds like a big job.
Tammy - I am on Phase II now so figured the dark chocolate would be ok.
Beth - I would love the pumpkin cranberry recipe when you get a chance.
I did ok last night had turkey, broccoli and 1 small sweet potato for dinner. But then I had 1/2 a glass of white wine and dark chocolate with marshmallow in the middle. I feel worst about the marshmallow. What kills me is it was not even good LOL. I have to get better at pre-planning. I don't mind eating the right way. However, it is the prepping I am disorganised at. Also hard because my other half isn't following the plan but when I go to get a snack he wants one so I end up making two instead of one and it kind of makes me mad. If you are going to stuff your face with anything you want don't make me exert extra energy to make you special food also. Ugh !
Yesterday, I accomplished most everything, got the entire house cleaned, did laundry and did some weeding. I went grocery shopping on the way home on Friday, so my fridge is overstocked with lots of veggies and some berries.
DD2 pretty much rested all day, we did put in her in the pool for a bit and she enjoyed that with her friends. One of her friends spent the night, but DD was up at 4 a.m. with her foot still hurting, so I plan on letting her sleep this morning.
Jekel enjoy the baby shower, hope they have some op food for you
Tywnn don't you like how our kids share their germs with us
Debbie glad you are almost done with the rental
Beth I did some reading last night as well, enjoy your day
Nicole good job last night, dark chocolate is a great idea.
Good morning I slept in a little this mornng so now I'm running behind, of course Lots of gardening to do, in spite of a couple of cold days ahead. I'll be back later to catch-up!
Home now with lots of eggs, fruits and veggies to deal with - tomorrow! We partied late and I still woke up at 4, Finally got up at 6 and made coffee. There were several extras for breakfast - not a great idea to drive when you've "drink take" and Grandma used to say. Nice to be with a bunch of 20-30s who are smart and adaptable. They brought air mattresses etc and were camped all over the huge house - they just kept showing up for breakfast. The bride-to-be had her wee dog and I am now in love with 6-month old Arthur, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Seem tired for some reason - maybe from 3 hours of sleep and a two hour drive? Ya think?
