Default Wake Up! It's MONDAY! SBD for 11/23

There, that's a little better. At least it's only a 3 day work week, right?

Only two days, here. Who wants to drive I-95 on Wednesday, right? Our plan is to leave Wed AM to see granny and papa, although I'm not sure I'm going with them yet. Granny doesn't recognize anyone anymore, but papa sure does need the support. I'm sure their caretaker will be making lots of good southern (fried or heavily seasoned - which means oiled!) food!

I finally made the nice dinner last night ...ham! With baked sweet potatoes and roasted asparagus. We won't mention the pineapple casserole, since that's not SBD compliant .

Today is the calm before the storm...I have a couple of errands, otherwise just rest up until we're ready to leave on Wednesday morn. DH, who used to not like dogs much, is insisting on bringing the dog with this time. HA! How can anyone resist that face?!

Good morning from frosty Delta who is graced with a skiff of snow.

Linda, must be great to know you have a three day week ahead. By the way, I am in the red flannel jammies I bought that year I was shopping with you and Monica.

Tammy, of course you have to take the dog. I hope you feel well enough to undertake the journey.

I have to grab and drink my coffee, get dressed and outta here to turn on the heat in the Old Town Hall for our big "reveal" this morning. The two consultants are presenting the reports of their management audit which is supposed to make running the Mill easier. I know one of their recommendations is a full time person in the Office during our open season. Know anyone who would like to work from mid-May to Labour Day for a mere pittance?

The dogs had a wonderful time at Paul and Lisa's house and came home thoroughly spoiled from their overnight. Apparently this was a good thing so I will cancel my reservation at 4Paws Inn and let them stay with their "cousin" Angus when I'm away.

Gotta jet and get the Hall heated up for the meeting and make the coffee which takes ages in the big urn. Anna also sent me a boozy Christmas cake to slice. (I hate Christmas cake and it's way too early to start on Christmas goodies when I'm still suffering from the Halloween stuff!)

Wishing you a nice week - enjoy the good parts and ignore any bad.

Good morning!

We traveled over this morning. The roads were dry and we had a safe trip. I now have 35 minutes to get dressed and make my smoothie I'm enjoying coffee right now. I got the cat box cleaned out while coffee was making so that's checked off the list. I haven't seen the cat yet I'm sure she still alive she ate most of her food.

I have some challenges to get ahead today. Kirk's daughter flies in from San Francisco with her service dog arriving at 9:30 tonight. Her car is sitting in front of my house. I will just work on thinking that through while I work today.

I wish you all a gentle Monday. Things all work out the way they're supposed to. That's my philosophy, anyway!

Good morning everyone

Linda are you able to post a pic of the mug you made? Sounds like you had a great weekend.

Pearlrose take Friday off! Enjoy your time with the family.

Tammy I have never traveled with either of my dogs. Would make life so much easier if they came with me.

Debbie is this the same daughter who has "issues"? You are a very strong woman. Breathe deeply you can handle this too.

Ruth hope you get the Mill warmed up quickly.

Ugh neighbor, not Jim, has a gas powered leaf blower going. First I thought it was a chain saw because it is loud! Mick is growling away. Guess he doesn't like it either. At least they are finally taking care of their leaves. I'm hoping my landscaper comes today for my last fall clean up.

Yesterday was a blast. We had some really nice wines and some that were just plain gross. I bought a few hard ciders for Thanksgiving. A spakling champagne style wine for New Years. A Cabernet and a reisling just because. Each vineyard had for food to pair with their samplings. Basically they feed you so you don't get tipsy. We had paella, meatball sliders, gnocchi with pulled pork and cranberries, a flan with a port wine reduction and more food porn than I care to mention. The scale screamed when I got on it today lol. Time to be good!

Today I am off to my favorite gift shop. I have two coupons I can use at the same visit. Each is for 25% off. Hope to find some gifts there. Then a trip to Joe's super Walmart to stock up. I refuse to go to any Walmart from Black Fruday through New Year's Day.

Time for a second pour. Anyone care for a cup?

Good morning.

Same number days work for me this week as usual - and two will be Black Friday and Saturday!

I'm off to the gym this morning. Then I head to MILs to help out. I'll actually be watching her by myself for my longest stint yet, today, so DH can go to some college basketball tournament games. I have finished my holiday shopping for DH's stocking and gifts for the family we adopted at work. Now on to the boys.

Have a great day.

Good afternoon.
Back from my road trip to get DS2; DS1 will arrive tomorrow morning. Since I took today off that makes my work week 1 day long! I could get used to that, although probably not the smaller paycheck that would go with it...

Tammy, hope you are able to make the trip.
Pearl and Karen, may your work days fly by!
Ruth, I was going to say that position sounds good for a retiree, but NOT one that already does too much!
Jennifer, was your shopping trip successful? Sounds like yesterday was fun.
Debbie, you are very patient and good hearted. Family is important but they can be so darn frustrating!

I think I have all my groceries in order; the turkey is currently in a cooler in the garage so it will start to thaw. There is no way it will fit in the frig! We have no snow in the forecast either, which is my kind of Thanksgiving week!

Have a great evening, chicks.

Hello Today was my only work day this week. Nice schedule but we don't get paid for Tues. and Wed., so there are drawbacks. Tomorrow I'm off to pick up the turkey in the morning, then heading up the highway for an interview. It's a job I am definitely interested in, state job, interesting work, not too far from home, well defined hours, and a livable income. I am very qualified for the position, but I never know how well I will click with the interviewers, or who else they are interviewing. It would be nice to settle into something more long-term but if not this one, another will come along.

Wednesday we head to NY to see the family. Should be fun and we get to spend time with the babe

I'll be back in the morning. It's almost wine time.
