I just got a new food scale that will measure in different units rather than just ounces. I only used my old one once in awhile to weight meat. I've been using the new one to weigh out everything (thats not liquid) and it is great! I never realized the different when I am judging things just by sight.
Last night I was cutting up strawberries and a serving size said 1 cup but when I actually cut them up and measured them by the serving weight in grams it was different than I expected.
I highly recommend using a scale! I think I have been under estimating my calories now that I am weighing things.
