Hi all,
Found your wonderful site by way of a recipe on Pinterst. You all are a goldmine!
I'm trying to think of myself as a Success Story in the works. I'm not there yet but I do believe I will be. And I'll keep at it every day for the rest of my life. I'm changing the way I eat forever. I'm not on a diet...just eating good food with the occasional splurge.
I'm pushing 60

and have battled my weight my entire life. I've successfully lost quite a bit twice with WW....but eventually put it all back on. At the ripe age of 58something something (a couple years ago) I realized I'm not a good plan follower so I needed to do whatever it was my way and on my terms. I started in August 2013 and have lost 80 lbs since. Yes, it's slow going but it feels reasonable and I've never had a single day where I just wanted to quit.
A part of doing it "my way" has been to enjoy the ride. I'm having fun finding new ways to cook old favorites and discovering foods I'd never eaten much or at all. I occasionally have the days where I read a few too many "diet" websites or blogs and start getting obsessive. I'll deprive myself of things for a few days, start getting positively silly about what I'm eating, then follow it all up with a mini-binge. Not good! As long as I don't think of it as a diet, about something that has structured rules of someone elses I have to follow, or think of it as something miserable I must endure, I'm golden.

So far, I'm probably about 90% successful.
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
