Hi guys,
I have been on 3 grains of NatureThroid per day for a few months. My new thyroid levels are:
TSH 0.01
T3 219
T4 0.95
My doctor recommended backing off of the thyroid meds however I'm still having symptoms with severe weight gain and fatigue. I'm not sure where to go from here. I was feeling improved when stopping gluten, however I'm working 2 jobs and it's hard to stay off gluten when I have to rely on easy to prep meals. I plan to try a gluten-free diet again to see if it improves but I was hoping someone here may have some advice. Thank you!
Hi Kelli,
I'm Hashi's too. Stinks. The Naturopath I'm seeing wants me gluten free. I've mostly been grain free for a long time now so it's not a stretch for me. Doesn't seem to help either way though. She also suggested supplements which I've been taking religiously. Then I got bloodwork done and my numbers were off again. I've had to up my dose of Levo and I'm also on NatureThroid and will check again in November. It's a rollercoaster. My numbers are never steady. There's so much conflicting information on thyroid and Hashi's. I read that low carb isn't great for thyroid - maybe that's how I got here - maybe not since it runs in the family. When I eat carbs I gain - so what are you supposed to do.
Anyway - I don't know what to tell you - just commiserating.
This thread is old so maybe you won't be reading this.
Please check out the thread "New to Thyroid Issues", as I just posted some information.
