Quickly approaching 40!

  • Hello!

    I have been here before, and fell off the wagon, but this time, it is going to happen! I am quickly approaching my 40s (I am 36) and I have been struggling with my weight since I was 22. I am done. I am tired of being tired. I am tired of being depressed and i am tired of setting a goal, not reaching it and then beating myself up. So...here I am. Ready to rock it out this time!

    Goals:
    Run a 5K by October (already in week 3 of my training )
    Lose 80 lbs by this time next year.

    Rewards:
    Lots of mini rewards but the biggest one is that my hubby is taking me on a trip to Ireland when I reach goal!

  • Welcome! You will be happy that you are getting on top of your goals as you approach 40 -- making big lifestyle changes doesn't get any easier as you get older, and why not celebrate your whole 40s by taking excellent care of yourself from top to bottom!

    And a trip to Ireland, boy doesn't that sound like fun!
  • Hi Colleen! I feel the same way! I want to lose a significant amount more
    weight by my birthday in April. I sure don't want another birthday where I
    have to think I haven't gotten better, just older!

    and wow! that's more than a road trip! that's a dream trip!
