Plateau tips/help

  • I have been at a plateau for about a month , it seems every time i enter the 150s i cant get my weight to drop. I run on a eliptical occasionally and eat 1200 calories a day. Does anyone have any workout routines they swear by or any tips ?thanks
  • I'm right there with you. What I'm going to try next is varying my diet, especially veggies.
If you ever find something that works, let me know!!
  • That was mE a month ago switch up your diet and exercise do something diffrent
  • thanks ladies i think ill try varying my diet because i do keep it pretty strict
  • Also vary your exercise. Your muscles become acclimated after a while to different types of exercises so doing the same exercise at the same (or a similar) intensity burns less calories than when you first started.
  • If you always do the same workout your body will always plateau. You have to either up your intensity or your workout lenght / frequency. You already have a low calorie diet so I think you should focus on exercise and you should be good!
  • You should up your calories for sure. You are holding on to fat because your body is in starvation mode. I wouldn't even recommend calorie counting, portions are more important. Make sure you are having a plate that has 50% veggies at least! Eat your carbs in the morning and lunch (like oatmeal) and slow down your eating by the end of they day.
  • Stephmt91: Any news? have you tried calorie cycling? I hope you've had some improvement!
  • I'd increase your calories by 10% and change up your workout routine to incorporate strength/interval training.
