  • So, I went to exchange a few things at Old Navy today, and I found out that not only do I now wear a size 12 in their jeans (started at a size 16 last spring), but I can actually get into a pair of skinny jeans and look good. I also got a really nice black, wool coat. I haven't had a coat in years that hasn't made me look like a marshmallow. I felt so incredible. Just suhiufgh. No words.

So, at what moment during your journey so far did you just suddenly realize how much weight you'd actually lost or how much your body has changed?

For me, it was definitely tonight shopping.
  • Very cool milestone!

It's funny, I've had a couple of moments like that, promptly followed by self induced moments that make me feel like I have a long way to go. Guess I should just focus on the GOOD moments and ignore the bad ones.

I had one just this past week. I went to a store just for fun to try on jeans and dresses, and I fit into 8s and 9s. I couldn't believe it. I was on cloud 9 (cloud SIZE 9, lol). Single digits have always seemed unattainable.

I had a great moment too when I bought my first pair of knee high boots. Those things seem to be made for people with toddler size calves, but I fit!

About 3 months ago I was walking into a store and I saw someone wearing the exact same outfit as me. I was mortified, especially because she was smaller than me by quite a bit. I was thinking "dang skinny b!tch wearing my outfit making me look bad", and it was me; my own reflection. HA! No perception of my own size apparently.
  • It would have had to be when I was searching for something to wear at and grabbed a shirt that had been tight on me at one point. It was still wearable, but I had never worn it much because it was a little tight.

    I think it was a 2x.

I don't remember how much I weighed when this happened, but I know I had lost a significant amount. I remember thinking: "oh, this shirt was tight, it's probably a good fit now." I put it on and it was big on me.

Like comically big. I was swimming in the dang shirt.

My mind couldn't wrap itself around that concept. I remember screeching: "but this was tight on me!" almost as if the shirt must have grown or something. I couldn't imagine that I was that much smaller.

Right now I have a much better perception of my size (but it's still quite borked) but back then I COULD NOT mentally gather what my size was.
  • Actually, my moment happen at Old Navy too!

If I ever wanted to buy a pair of jean at Old Navy, I would have to order them online in the plus size section. The other day though I was shopping at Old Navy and grabbed a pair of their size 20 jeans and tried them on-and they fit! Granted, they're still plus size jeans but I can't remember the last time I was a size 20 in jeans. It was so nice to just go into the store and be able to buy something. I just stood there in the dressing room and smiled and thought about how far I've come. The dressing room attendant probably thought I was nuts because I was in there so long!
  • I bought juniors size 1/2 jeggings the other day. All I can think about is being a teenager and almost crying in stores because it was a hard squeeze to get into 13/14 pants!
  • Well, I still have a lot further to go on my weight loss than most of you posting in this thread but will still share one.

A couple weeks ago a friend went with me to Catherine's to try to find some blouses. I am also buying some that are too small to have for later, when I find good deals. One blouse I tried on was a 1X, which I have not been able to wear. It fit perfectly! I said to my friend... "But I can't WEAR a 1X!" She said "yes, you can." Most of the ones I am wearing are still 2X but they are getting quite big on me. Most of the 1X are still a bit too snug but it won't be long! I am working my way right out of that store!!!
  • When your leggings get too big for you, you know you are shrinking! lol I've went from buying sizes in 2X to XL late summer and now I'm wearing L!!!!

Also I've recently noticed when I power walk or lightly jog, my back doesn't jiggle anymore because I don't have much back fat left.

    Such a great feeling guys!
  • sunnyside- i'm totally having that issue.

my leggings are starting to get baggy on the bum. LEGGINGS!!
  • When I tried on one of my sister's size 8 jeans and was getting close to being able to fit them all the way. I've dropped from a size 13 to a 9/10.

    I was ecstatic.
  • when I try my old clothes and some of them fits ... Finally
  • stimkovs - haha! my problem is the front... it looks like i have a pouch of air in my crotch. lol

That's hilarious because I was just about to post the same. In my exercise class last night I had to continuously pull up my yoga pants...boy I'm really helping the economy this year. lol
  • That's wonderful!!!

I can't wait to say the same thing!
