Default ww newbie

hi. iv been dieting on my own since 1st january 2011 and have so far managed to loose 42lbs. my goal back then was to of lost 56lbs or more by 1st jan 2013. well i have reached a stand still going from 12 stone 10lbs to 12 stone 11lbs and back again so this morning i joined my local weight watchers using the monthly pass i brought online. i weighed in at...suprise suprise.... 12 stone 10lbs. i went away feeling rather confused as to what i can eat until i found the pro ponts calculator on the ww website (what a fab bit of tech!)

anyways just thought id say hi and ask how everyone is doing generally on the ww plan? how are you finding it and how much have you all lost?

Welcome! I will say, Weight Watchers DOES work. However tracking your points correctly and getting in exercise are very important to the success of the program. Honestly, I LOVE Weight Watchers, and I would rave about the program to anyone who asked me. However I do not like their website or their tools on the website. I actually ended up canceling my membership a few months back and have since been using a free application on my cell phone that does the same thing. As of today I've lost 33 lbs.

I've been on WW since January 2011 and I've lost 91 lbs, so yes WW does work if you're willing to put the time and effort into it As KC82 said, tracking is KEY to the success of the plan.

Hi there-

I lost over 45 lbs with WW down to 185 then I took a dieting break, ,mostly maintaining for almost a year. I finally restarted recently when I gained back up to 190. It works if you stick to it like others have said. Track EVERYTHING- the good, bad and ugly. Seriously, it helps rather than pretend it never happened.

You have done great so far! Keep going.

The key is to make tracking a way of life and find lots of meals in your week that you can make low points (i.e., mostly veggies) to counteract the inevitable moments when you can't (eating out, etc.). It worked for me when I did it in 2007 and I'm recommitting myself now to going back. I'll be back at my old meeting on Monday even though I kind of dread that scale...

I do really like using the WW app for the iphone. I put in my food immediately when I eat it, as I always have my phone with me. Instant tracking.

Good luck!!
