Default Tummy Tucks??

Anyone have plans for a tummy tuck when they get to their goal weight? I'll hopefully be losing over 150lbs, and there is no way I'm going to feel comfortable with all of the extra skin!! I always said it wouldn't matter, as long as I was healthy I didn't need to get into a bikini to feel good about myself but I've worked so hard I feel like it's something I'm going to consider...

I'm definitely going to do it if need be! Some people think that it would be vain, but I think that if you've done all that hard work, if you want to do it, you should! I'm not going to do it right away though.... I've heard that you should give yourself some time and see if things "go back the where they should" lol.

I was open to the idea, but I don't think I will need it. I do have extra skin, but it's not bad enough to go through the risks and pain of surgery. With the right shapewear it's not noticeable, and anyone who sees me naked won't care (if they do - they won't see me naked, lol)

Everyone's different though, and so much depends on genetics and what you are comfortable with!

Bridgettedavis,

Being young you will likely have more skin springing back into place than the average person does, although it will take time. Even so, there may be some loose skin left to deal with. If I were young like you (I'm 50) and could afford the surgery I would most definitely go for it. Poke around the Maintainers forum and see what others think/have done.

I might, depending on how bad it'll be when I get there as well as waiting maybe 6 months to a year after to see if things go back to where they should like gracesmomma said.

Don't immediately do it when you get to your goal weight. Maintain for a while.

I've noticed quite a bit of improvement over the past few months. While I still have lose skin, it's shrank a LOT.

A lot of long term maintainers also say that they've seen improvements at a year or more.

Your profile says you're 26. I'm 24 Age is on our side! It might shrink up a little faster in our cases.

I have thought about it, but don't think I will.
I told myself that when I hit goal I will wait 2 years, see what my body does naturally, and see how everything looks then.

If after 2 years of maintaining goal weight I feel strongly that I want to do something about excess skin then I will.
