I don't really weigh my meat, just eye ball it. Sometimes it's 6oz, sometimes it's 12oz. It's all just protein, right?? Or...am I screwing up? I'm still losing so I guess it seems ok.
My coach gave me instructions for both raw and cooked, but I think I will try to get into the habit of weighing first. thanks, just wanted to know what you do.
I was told raw. I experimented and found that the 5 oz raw that we were initially allowed cooked up to about 3.75 oz cooked, whether it was chicken or beef or whatever, so when I cook up a bunch of meat, I know how to portion and freeze it. Same ratio would apply to the 8 oz portion.
If you need more meat to make it through the day, then do it, but remember there is some fat in any cut of meat... turkey is really the lowest fat.
My coach specifically said to weigh meat cooked but to measure veggies raw. Weight Watchers says to weigh meat cooked as well. If you weigh it raw, then you really can't be sure how much you are getting because of shrinkage.
