Default SBD Chat for Friday the Shhhh of April

Good morning. Today had better be a lucky day since I go to get my new car after gym this morning. Well, I'll get it if it has arrived at the dealership. Otherwise, I'll have a loaner from the lot until Monday.

Spent a most frustrating day doing taxes yesterday. Donna gets a tad stressed over taxes and gave me all the 2010 slips instead of 2011. Good thing I noticed it before I efiled the thing. I'm also doing her Ted's final return so things are a tad complicated.

I stopped everything at 4 and went out to check out my garden. The peas
and spinach are finally up. Sure hope I can get some work done out there before the next series of rainy days hits us. I hate to see showers, shower, showers, showers in the 14-day forecast. My clay soil is impossible to walk on when wet.

Tonight is my crazy Book Club night. Everybody hated the book which was very gloomy - set in a mining town in northern New Brunswick. It got good reviews in the press but sure won't from the DWARPS aka Drinkers With A Reading Problem. The next selection has to be better.

Time to have another mug from the Keurig which is a very happy appliance today after being de-scaled yesterday. Come and chat a bit.

Good morning!

I hope we get to see a picture of you in your new car, Ruth! Your peas and spinach are up? My mustards died with that frost, I didn't bother covering them (they were wee ones) and haven't replanted yet with this crazy weather.

I have a shorter day at work, but am on call til tonight . I will be very sad if I have to work all afternoon!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning DD and I are heading to see my parents for the weekend. Just wanted to pop in and thank everyone for the kind thoughts and little messages. I am around but not posting much. Hope to be back a little more next week.

You won't hear today's date from me, except that it's FRIDAY! Off course, if you have the news on, though, they insist on broadcasting it over and over again.

Ruth, I'm sending good Karma up your way that your brand new car will be in the lot, waiting for you. That's awful about Donna having the wrong receipts for her taxes. It's a blessing that you caught the mistake before you sent it in! Oh! Please send some of your rain down our way, we need it badly.

I'm off to get my hair cut and colored first thing, then I may drive into the city to Penzey's to stock up on my spices. I'd like to stop in at the new Whole Foods Store that just opened up, too, but it's way on the other side of town and I don't know if I can fit in. Some where in all this, I really should find time to do a dust-and-vacuum. Now that Andrea is working, I guess it's all up to me again.

It's good to hear from you, Cyndi. You're in all our thoughts, and hope you are taking care of yourself. Have a safe trip to your parents'.

Tammy, I'm so glad I waiting an extra week before I planted my garden. Everything is thriving, and yesterday Tyler and I discovered the radishes are starting to come up.

Yes, I see a mini-PA meet up in my future, one of my (what I expect will be many) trips back this way. We spent the night in New Stanton, PA, 13 hours from home. We should have less than 5 hours to drive today and are meeting our son when he gets out of class around 2:00. He's got several places lined up for us to see, mostly tomorrow. One of the most interesting has already been rented We got a late start yesterday because one of us was still working on taxes. Hint - I am not a procrastinator. Our CD player broke halfway through a book on tape. But otherwise things went smoothly.

Cyndi - You've been in my thoughts

Trying to hydrate a bit before we hit the road again. Have a great weekend.

Good morning SB'ers Ruth, best wishes on getting your car today!

Twynnhope you do have a short day and can enjoy your self later!

cottage I will gladly send any rain here to you...do you want the hail also..probably not Penzys, I used to receive their catalogue and loved looking at it!

CyndiM have a peaceful trip..of course I've been thinking of you and sending love

Karen best wishes on finding a great place for your son. Sorry to hear of the CD player breaking, and the good apt. being gone. I had to LOL yesterday (or day before) when you mentioned taxes and procrastinators...my DH does ours, but wont' start til so very late...then barks at 'where's this' or 'where's that'...discovers his computer can't handle the software...barks at that..all compounded by the clock ticking..ugh!!

Well ladies, remember that spare room i mentioned months ago that needed 'doing'? I finally tackled it yesterday. It was mostly just moving stuff around but now at least Eddie the Dog can look out the window and not be scared of the drum set unless his tail brushes against something, then he freaks and runs

Good morning,

Ruth- hope your car is waiting for you.

Twynn- hope you don't have to work all afternoon

Cyndi- Enjoy your visit- I've been thinking of you and hoping you are doing okay

Cottage- Enjoy your day

Karen- Good luck with the apartment hunting

Holly- Feels good to tackle something you have been putting off

Yesterday went fairly well at the viewing, it was just a very long ride 7 hours in a car yesterday. Got home at 9 p.m. did not want to get up this morning when the alarm went off. It's Cardinals opening day so we are wearing our shirts and jeans today to celebrate. My eating has been horrible lately, so I Phase 1 starts tomorrow after I get groceries today

Have a great day everyone.

Morning!
For a short week at work it sure has been a crazy busy one. Just wanted to check in before time hit away from me like it did yesterday. I am not happy with the scale right now (& my ticker is currently lying) so must make time today to get a meal plan and some grocery shopping done so I can phase 1 it for a few days. Lunch out at work today and tomorrow for my parent's anniversary so fingers crossed I can find some decent salads on the menus.

Cyndi - you've been in my thoughts all week. Sending hugs your way.

Have a great day chicks!

So nice to see our Cyndi popping in. I knew she has been online and even doing some MOD duties. We have all been sending prayers, love and good vibes to you this week, Cyndi, and may even indulge in a group hug.

Just home from Smiths Falls and am driving a WHITE Ford just for the weekend. It's waaaaaay out of my price range. The URL shows American prices and I'm not even asking what this one costs in Canada! They goofed and sent my re Focus to Perth instead of Smiths Falls. (Friday the 13th luck?) I have this one for the weekend and will return it Tuesday morning. In the meantime, we are a two-car family and Disney is pestering me to teach her how to drive. So now to return the Olds to the garage. My neighbour is going to puck me up there and I'll be back to a single car household. I hate arguing with dogs!

I hope everyone has a good evening. Too bad you can't all join me at my crazy book club. Cottage will tell you that we do very little book discussion.

Morning all!

DW is running a 5k today - I wasn't going to go but made a sign and everything to cheer her on. I've been in a funk and think some inspiration might help me. As will going on Ph1 for a week starting tomorrow.

Hi to all! Will be around more this weekend

Cyndi - Love you girl. Please be safe. :

I have been a (MOO) all week, and definitely feeling it. Forcing myself to hit the treadmill after work tonight, and planning my Ph1 menu for next week. I kind of thought about taking some broccoli slaw and pulsing it in the food processor until it's kind of rice-sized, then stir-frying some OP veggies together in a sauce made of ginger, garlic, natural PB, and broth, maybe some low-sodium soy sauce too. Thought maybe the veggies would go well on a bed of the finely chopped broccoli slaw? I don't know. Just trying not to get bored.... Also will do Lasagna Stuffed Peppers and Portabella Parmesan. Mmmmm. OH healthy food, how I have missed you.

I miss not being exhausted from eating crap all the time too. Heading to the store on Sunday!

Anyhoozle, I hope everyone is having a great Friday the You Know Who-th.... I haven't fallen down the stairs..... yet. I'll be popping in more next week.
