Calorie counting has got to be the way for me! Introduction
Hi all!! I have been lruking on here off an on over the past fews months. And today I decided to make the commitment and sign on up.
I have been trying to eat healthier foods and focus on doing whats good for my body over the past two months. I feel good about the changes I have made, but not good about progress in relation to weightloss.
I am 28 years old, and like what is likely many of us, have has my weight fluctuate up and down as much as 30 lbs over the past few years. In my younger years a simple focus on eating more fruits and veggies has been my magic bullet for weightloss. It doesnt work super quickly most iof the time, but in the past only that one focus has enabled me to lose wieght, though never all the way to my ultimate goal. After 2 months of doing this, this time it has not proved at all effective for weight loss.
Like I said I focus on eating more healthy foods, but that doesnt mean I am not eating the unhealthy ones, and while I have more energy and my skin looks clearer than two months ago, I learned today that I actually gained 3 lbs!
This is why I am here. I am ready to make calorie counting my solution. My weight today is 182.6 lbs. My goal weight will start at 155, and I hope to accompliosh that with-in a year (I'll be thrilled if it happens MUCH sooner).
I plan to keep focusing on nutrient dense foods, but now I get to add counting calories to the mix. Hopefully having to stay within a caloric range will help me to kick the bad food habits that I have a hard time with. These include.
*Late night snacking.
*Near addiction towards salty tortilla chips, french fries and anything uber cheesy
*Liking my vino and beer and definitely adding too many additional calories.
*When too many of the above bullet occurs a definite rise in the late night snacking issue
So I thought I would start with a 1200 calorie base and allow myself to add in excercise calories.
From lurking on here I know that many people dont feel like adding back in excercise calories is a smart way to do it, but my theory here is that perhaps being able to eat a bit more when I excercise will motivate me to do it more frequently. Kinda like I get rewarded by additional calories when I work out.
I'm counting calories and excercise up on an iphone app.
I look forward to finding ways to be accountable to you ladies and look forward to this fresh start!
