Default To weight train or not to weight train...

So I'm trying to figure out the best way to flush out whatever is causing me to hold on to these 2 extra pounds (It was just 2 not 3, so not as bad as I thought), and I was wondering if it would be a good/bad idea to skip out on weight training and just do straight cardio for this week? I also lowered my calorie limit on my calorie app to 1600 (it was at like 1870 or something, but I found I generally eat around 1600 anyway) and I'm planning on drinking lots of water and eating a bit more potassium (doesn't that flush out sodium? I don't know if my info is accurate there). Does this sound good?

Ok, what do you mean "2 extra pounds" - ?? According to your ticker you have 47 extra pounds that you are trying to lose. (do you mean 2 extra pounds that you have regained? 2 extra pounds that you want to meet your current small goal?)

Therefore I am surmising that for whatever reason, you are obsessing about two simple pounds. In the grand dieting/exercising scheme, 2 itty-bitty pounds is not worth contemplating changing a routine over. Especially "just for this week."

I'd keep doing what you're doing - you've lost 19 lb thus far, and that's FANTASTIC! - what you're doing IS WORKING! - so why would you want to change it for a little bitty "2 extra pounds" ?

You're trying to win a challenge in which money is the prize right? Is that why the 2 lbs is important this week?

Depending on how much money is on the line there are ways to drop weight and manipulate water if that is your goal.

Otherwise I wouldn't worry about it and I would hit the gym.

I don't really know what the smaller cash prizes are but the big one is $400, which means a lot to a soon-to-be college graduate like myself, lol. I honestly don't even know if I'll win, but as far as my personal mini goals are concerned, I wanted to be in the lower 220s at the end of March -- I got to 223.8 (I really need to change my thingy) and the it bopped back up to 226 today, so now I don't know if I'll be able to reach my goal of being in the 2-teens by the time I graduate (on the 28th).

But as far as this little blip is concerned, yes this is a regain, and I'm thinking it might be because TOM is near (next Tuesday), so I might end up with a "woosh" when it's all said and done and all this fretting will be for nothing, lol. I tend to do that a lot >_<!

Do you want to lose two pounds of water or two pounds of fat? Water easily lost is water easily gained, even when dieting. Fat loss makes a difference in appearance. Are you in a particular hurry to get those two extra pounds off? If not, I would just stick to the weight resistance training; it'll pay off nicely in the end.

I guess two pounds of water because I honestly don't think it's fat; I just trying to get it out so I can be back to where I was so I can be closer to my goal for this month.
