  • My goals:
Follow an anti-inflammatory meal plan for 4 weeks as close to 100% as manageable, working towards this being my new eating style for life
    Go to one movie alone
Go out to eat alone one time
Send resume and apply to two more travel agencies by month's end
  • Ok, I am ready to get this train back on the tracks...

1: Plan my meals and stick to the plan
2: Cut out the sweets and breads as they are derailing me fiercely - replace them with more veggies, if I'm hungry for them.
3: Be as close to 100% on track except for the following planned deviations:
    - April 14th... attending a Bridal Shower and then a Birthday Party... but fortunately I am doing a walk for MS that morning.
    - April 26th - Wedding Cake tasting... just a bite!
4: Start slow with exercise again, but listen to my back and take it easy.
5: Get back up to 100 oz/day of water.

We went grocery shopping today and I got a ton of fresh veggies and some pre-cooked skinless chicken breast strips for some yummy "meal-sized" salads. The weather is nice, here, and it's so much easier to eat "light" during the summer... when you aren't chilled to the bone and looking for warm, comforting foods to "stick with you".
  • Ready to start peeling off pounds in April!

My GOAL for April - to lose 10 - 15 lbs.

    STEPS 1. Drink more water
    2. Have more fish dinners
    3. 1 orange and apple every day
    4. workout 4-5 times a week.
    5. NO MORE SNACKING ON SWEETS!!!

My son's wedding is coming up in May.. I want to look my best!

    Good luck to everyone..
  • My goals for this month are as follows

    1. cut back on my bread and pasta intake
    2. when eating my cereal measure it to one cup instead of just pouring a bowl
    3. Try to get out and walk when the days are nice
    4. try to lose at least 3 - 5 lbs this month.
  • Happy April Fools day, everyone! Remember to be skeptical of anything you read, today!

goodnuff: I'm really curious about the Anti-inflammatory plan... what sort of foods do you eat or avoid eating? Is it something useful for joint pain, or only meant for severe circumstances? Whatever it is, good luck, and I hope it helps!

Lisa532: I am right on board with you about wanting to have more fish dinners! I don't eat much fish, mostly because I don't know any easy and healthy and tasty ways to prepare it. Also, it's kinda costly, so I'm always hesitant to get some just to experiment, you know? I hope you are more successful than I've been! Also, congratulations on your son's upcoming wedding! I have a wedding to attend in early May, as well. Here's to us both looking and feeling our best!

Lynnie: I hope dropping the bread and pasta helps you. I know it is a huge vice of mine, as well... so I'm dropping them this month, too.
  • well i weighed myself after I did my goals this morning and I have blown the weightloss goal right out of the water.I had a weightloss of 6lbs this morning.
  • ^^^Dang, Lynnie! Congrats!!
  • I am inspired by the diversity of goals posted above.

LynnieWow congrats on the weight loss!

GoodnuffI am reading the 'Anti-Inflammatory Diet for Dummies'. It is informative and I have made one recipe so far.

LisaI am trying to eat more fish too. I buy fresh local fillets at the market. They are already cleaned so I usually pan fry in a non stick pan with 1 teaspoon of olive oil and season with herbs and fresh lemon juice.

    My goals:
*apply for 6 jobs this month
    *monitor book marked career pages
*go to pool 2 per week or alternate activity
*go to farmers market every Saturday
*continue to eat 6 or more servings of fruit and veg per week
  • Well I went to both my pulmonary doctor and primary doctor and both were impressed with labs and weightloss. But my primary doctor has upped my metformin for weightloss not blood sugar. She was ver satisfied with how my blood work looked.
  • lynnieGood news.
  • Lynnie: Congrats on your 6 lb "woosh"! And that's great news that your doctor was happy with your blood work!

pluckypear: I hope your job applications are fruitful... it's really rough to hunt for a job these days.

TOM kicked in today. I feel draggy and bloated.
112oz water, and I'll have some bedtime tea soon.
Ate completely on plan today and did not "snack" on any of the forbidden sweets/breads/pastas, so.. yay!
  • Great news Lynnie!

My goals are mostly the same, mainly because I fell off the wagon recently and need to almost start over:

400 minutes exercise total for the month
64 oz water a day (or more)
2150 calories a day (or less)
  • Telorida- the diet basically decreases consumption of most dairy, meats, grains and increases fruits, veggies and while foods. I had some blood work done that told me what I have the biggest issues with and I'm trying really hard to avoid those. It's supposed to help gut inflammation and joint inflammation/pain. I hope it works. Glad to see you getting back on track!
Congrats on the loss an news at the doctor lynnie!
    Hope everyone is doing well.
I did better the last two days but as always there is room for improvement!
  • hey gang! well i am on the seond day of my increased dose of metformin and lets just say it must be doing something because I am not as nearly as hungry like I was a couple days ago.I figured out why you lose weight though its because your stomach is always upset and your constantly in the bathroom so I have increased my water intake so I don't dehydrate. lol I couldn't go anywhere today because I would feel bad for anyone who had to smell what I am smelling from all the stomach trouble!! TMI So dear hubby is out doing all the grocery shopping today. On a positive note though It should be miraclous weigh in this weekend. Please feel some pity for me lmao.
