Default Beach Chat for Thursday, March 29th

Good morning and help yourself to some Newman's Bold coffee. (Did I ever mention I love my Keurig? So glad Linda forced me to buy one when I visited her!)

Aside from the gym yesterday, I really goofed off all day. The dogs and I even had a 2 hour nap! I sometimes feel guilty when I have a day like that but I guess I needed it. The cold seems to be slowly fading into the background. It had better get outta here fast because April is a busy month!

Goofed on supper last night due to poor planning. I was feeling lazy so did a chicken breast in Shake'n Bake. That stuff is terrible! I swear it's half salt. I ended up scrambling some eggs for my protein. I must look around for a breaded chicken breast recipe that's legit! Linda, would your Chicken Boobies recipe work for SBD?

By the way, it's snowing here but I intend to ignore it although I may make a concession and wear my coat when I take the trash to the curb in a few minutes. I have to keep reminding me that this is normal weather for March.

Gail and Mandy, and to The Beach! Please join us in the daily chat!

Good morning chicks!

Ruth - glad you had a great day "off". I'm amazed...a 2 hour nap?! Good for you!

Cyndi - good morning!

Today is busy, busy. I have a meeting at school at 8 am, then work my long day (til 7) with 2 lunchtime meetings, then I need to get ready to leave for FL tomorrow after work. Dad died Feb 20, but mom is having some 40 day something-or-another, then the "celebration of life" is Saturday. I will admit...I am dreading it. My DD is going with me, while DH and DS stay home. I think she's having some good beachy food though.

DH made the coffee nice and strong today!!

I'm fresh out of Newman's Bold, so I'm having Starbuck's Pike Place this morning. Almost as good, but I have to get to the store today.

I hope you have a nice day planned, Cyndi, and snuggle in and enjoy your snowy morning, Ruth. I think the Chicken Boobies is pretty much Phase 2 compliant. There is a little starch in the cream of mushroom soup, but I don't think it's enough to do any harm.

I don't have to go in until noon today, but I'm staying later this evening. The girls are skipping school to go on the fox hunt with Cindy. They only have 1/2 day today, anyway. This afternoon we plan to start planting the garden, and we have an insulated tarp they can toss over it if it gets too cold at night. I haven't planted anything in my own garden yet, but I do plan to get some lettuces, spinach and chard in over the weekend.

Time for a coffee refill!

Good morning.

Welcome, Gail and Mandy

I have an unusually busy day today. Yoga this morning, then hair cut/color, then I work from 4:30-9:30. Somewhere in there I will whip up a double batch of the "better than tuna salad" to take to work (and then have as leftovers for lunch over the next several days). Now that DH is doing his almost-vegan thing, I make the extra for him.

We did see the Hunger Games movie and if you haven't seen it yet but are at all inclined, I recommend you read the book first. IMO, as with most books-into-movies, the book is better. And for me it made the movie easier to understand. The next books in the series are due to arrive from Amazon today and probably will show up when I'm at work so DH will likely beat me to reading them.

Off for some tea, coffee drinking beach buddies

Chicken Boobies...? Intriguing...

Ruth have you tried breading the chicken in ground pecans or almonds, or walnuts?

I had a pretty good run yesterday, I'm still plugging away at it; I'll have to pick up the pace if I'm going to play soccer in two weeks. My knees were not happy w/ me yesterday, though. They don't bother me when I'm running, just after, they get really sore and one of them is definitely damaged somehow. I'm half hoping soccer will finally do it in and I can stop dealing w/ this nagging injury, and just have it fixed once and for all. Right now it is just bad enough to be an annoyance, but not bad enough to do anything about it!

Karen, I'm supposed to see the HG tonight...my daughter gave it a pretty good review. We both loved the books.

Twynn I hope things go smoothly for you today.

Take care everyone and have a great pre-weekend!

Good Morning

I did start my morning with an invigorating hike to the coffee room then back up to weigh and say hi to all of you. All this coffee talk is motivating me to get back downstairs and start my day. Same ol' project. My neighbor came over yesterday to put a piece of molding on. She should have a tv show-she knows how to do everything. Anyway, she offered to help me sand for awhile and after 5 she was huffing and puffing. She couldn't believe I did it all day. She's same age and normal weight. I'm so glad I've worked at getting in shape.

Have a great day everyone!

Twynn, I don't envy you going back to moms....nice that DD will go with you.

Good morning,

Quick flyby for me this morning, no time for personals. My quads are sore after yesterdays run but that is a good thing working different muscles out.

We are still on boil order in our city, I am getting tired of it ready to be able to use water out of sink for brushing teeth etc.

Tonight have a meeting with just the women of the office, one of the directors initiated should be fun.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good mornin'! I'm sitting here typing with a cup of coffee (hazelnut made from my Keurig) to the right. All those who own a Keurig, I lift my cup up to you in greeting! To those who do not own one, I recommend the product.

I have nothing planned for today until later this afternoon and this evening. I'll be babysitting my two granddaughters although at the mere mention of the word "babysitting" around them starts them telling me how they are not babies anymore. They're 8 and 11. Always babies to me.

I'm starting to come to the conclusion that carbs will always be limited to me if I am to lose any weight. Right now I can't have any more than one serving of fruit and grain in my daily diet. Have any of y'all found this to be true? Granted I'm only in my first week of Phase 2.

I agree with you, WaistingTime/Karen, that books are always better than their movie adaptation. I have not read The Hunger Games yet but I know I will and I know I'll end up seeing the movie also.

I made the coleslaw from the recipe section last night. Pretty good!

Everyone have a nice day!

Good Morning Chicks!

I know I've been MIA lately. I have been trying to get a job and really putting a lot of effort into it. Right now I'm just working part-time doing surveys for a market research company and watching my friend's children a couple days a week. I do not remember the economy ever being this bad in my lifetime. I don't want to get political, but something's got to change.

Weight has been pretty stable, until this past week. I'm sure I'm up 5 lbs from what my ticker says at the moment. I have gone into sweet craving mode!! I can't believe at 50 years old I am still dealing with cravings and TOM. I guess it's better than cravings while pregnant.

I will catch up on personals tomorrow. I have to run into town for work now.
Enjoy this beautiful day all!!

Chris

Good Morning Peeps! Two cups of coffee down and checking in. I am SO on plan that I am scaring myself. No, seriously, I have not had ONE BITE of off plan stuff since Sunday!! This really is the best I have ever done; always before it was a "taste" of the rice I made for family, or "this is fruit, how can it be bad". So this really is big for me.

My day seems pretty boring compared to some of you: no appointments or meetings, just doing paperwork here at work. Evening at home with hubs and kids & lessons. Yawn.

Have a great OP day everyone!

Good morning!

Thanks so much for the welcomes! I'm off to Ikea for work this morning so not a bad way to start my day.

Tonight I'm doing a couple weeks worth of P1 menu planning and finishing my shopping. I'm really excited. I have a really supportive boyfriend and friends. They all eat whatever I'm eating when I'm with them. Last night I had dinner with a friend and she'd prepared an all phase 1 dinner for us. She'd googled what was allowed and had it all ready when I got there. How great is that?

Have a great day! Almost Friday!

Mandy, that is awesome!!!

Goodmorning everyone else. I haven't learned everyone's names just yet, so please forgive me for the lack of personal greetings.

I am ok this morning...really dealing with a craving I have had since last Saturday. Every day I eat OP and this craving won't go away. I am not sure what to do about it. I am craving a cupcake from a local bakery. I am fine with not eating burgers and fries ( a major craving for me before SB) and I am fine with eating all the OP foods I am eating...I just want that blasted cupcake. How do I get over this?

I am currently a SAHM and having nothing other than the usual planned. Gym, laundry, some light gardening (pulling weeds).

My kiddos are leaving for their first mission trip on Sunday and I am excited for them.

Hope everyone has a great day,and if you have any secrets on how to deal with a craving that keeps lasting and lasting...then I would be happy to listen!!!

Thanks!
