Default How can I improve my HDL???

I had my health risk assessment at work today and I actually did awesome! But it did come back saying that my HDL cholesterol level is too low. My total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol were both really good.

The nurse said I could improve HDL through exercise. I had low HDL in December 2010 and the nurse back then said exercise was the way to increase HDL. But I am doing very vigorous cardio 5days/week and am now strength training 2-3 days /week. I can't possibly do more.

The nurse today also suggested oily fish but I eat salmon 2-3 times a week. She also recommended more fiber but I have already upped my fiber intake considerably.

The final thing she mentioned was fish oil supplements. Do these work? Are they high calorie?

Has anybody successfully increased their HDL? How did you do it? Thanks!

My HDL was fairly good from diet and fish oil supplements but really moved into amazing territory when my exercise increased to 6 hours low intensity per week instead of 2.5 hours of more vigorous exercise.

My doctor suggested ground flax seed, and cutting out cheese when my numbers came out like yours.
