I've got coffee sitting next to me and am feeling like I'm ready to chat. I've been managing insomnia but did manage 6 hrs sleep somewhere or other. It's a work day and I've got my clothes in the wash. I baked some muffins for DH and managed to eat only one. I'll call that a success! I also peeled and diced a butternut squash figuring it will have to do with dinner...just how I haven't decided yet. Other than that, it's just a chilly and dark morning with thoughts of warmer weather.
What's going on in your neck of the woods? Stop and say hi!
I think I'll head over and check yesterdays thread and refresh my memory....my Monday was a bit harried!
ETA I'm running out of internet KB's until I start fresh Mar. 3....I'm going to lie low until then. I'm still trying to figure out if I can work this new "plan". No more leaving the computer on for the next few...
Have a great day everyone!
Debbie - are you on a regular internet, or one of those wireless hot spots? Ohhhh, dear. I should cut down on internet, but so hard to do.
I'm trying one of those new recipes off Kalyn's kitchen spin off with crock pot recipes, which I guess I better get moving to start that (the chicken and white bean one!). A jam packed day at work today, including saying good bye to a special, old, and in pain patient. I hope I don't become a blubbering idiot .
Eating went way off track yesterday, but today is another day, right?
Hi Twynn, I don't envy your day...I have a hotspot "thingie" otherwise I have to have a router at both houses which doubles $$. So far this is working...just need to keep within my alotted KB's. I hope your recipe turns out.
Debbie - You are a nicer wife than me! Bummer about the internet; thanks for not just vanishing.
Twynn - Please report back on the recipe; I've printed off several but have yet to try them.
I have yoga this morning then am meeting my SIL for lunch. We've never done this gal-pal thing before but her life just got a lot less busy so I thought I'd see where this takes us. (Very long story of typical family drama, yada, yada, yada.) It's supposed to be very rainy here today so I may or may not run a bunch of errands while I'm in a different part of town for lunch.
Did I tell you my husband and brother both joined ancestry.com? I spent hours yesterday copying stuff into my family tree.
Debbie, sorry to hear about the insomnia. And yes you are very nice to make muffins for your DH!
Twynn - that is very sad about what you have to face today...I can only say that one who is near the end would appreciate a warm caring person near them
Karen - hope you have a good yoga session and a nice lunch with SIL.
note to Chickadee - I laughed out loud at the thought of my boss coming to get me from the snow...he is not what one would call a gallant gentleman..he doesn't even wait to see if I get out of the dark, back parking lot at night before he zooms away
We got a couple more inches of snow last night...more to come tomorrow night..there goes my feeble hopes of us (husband, and older son) all getting our motorcycles out early this year. Oh well!
Good morning. Can someone tell me why I just found an azalea leaf in my coffee? A sign of Spring? It sure doesn't look like it out there this morning as everything is dazzling white and beautiful from a dusting of sparkles overnight.
Debbie, you could give lessons on managing insomnia. I must give it a try next time I have a nuit blanche. Thanks for the heads up on your possible absence. We worry.
Twynn, let us know how the chicken and bean recipe turns out. I am struggling for something exciting in my menus these days, Sorry about the dear old friend. I can't imagine doing that as often as you must. I've assisted my vet/friend several times and it still breaks my heart even if I don't know the pet.
Waisting Time, I've dabbled away at our family tree for years and really should get serious and join ancestry.ca. I has been a great excuse for trips to Ireland to do research - mainly in pubs. Enjoy the gal-pal thing with your SIL. I wish I could do that with my brother's wife but she's too far away.
Had a good sleep without coughing last night and am ready to tackle the day which has nothing scheduled. Yesterday I managed to get rid of two major reports and mailed them to the Feds. Whew! I also finished up a few sewing niggles so can go full steam ahead on machine quilting the quilt Cottage and I pinned last week. I may go to the bank later and perhaps do a bit of a grocery shop as I have Girls Family Dinner this Sunday. I love days with no pressure.
Two more days until March roars in and time to think of March weightloss goals.
Good morning Just realized I never made it in yesterday. I did read a couple of times but never seemed to get enough time and focus to post anything Today was our one day at home but DW got a waiting list call for a PT appt. this morning and tonight she wants to go to Camera Club I'd already planned a run into town so looks like it will be a big driving day after all.
Debbie - Good luck with your internet. I am hooked on the cinnamon butternut apple juice lately but roasted butternut has always been a fave around here. I'm down to my last squash from the summer stash. so sad
Twynn- Thank goodness for new days, over and over Hope the recipe is good. Good luck today
Karen- We've done some messing around on ancestry.com too. Every once in awhile we stumble on someone with pictures or grandparents as kids when they all lived in NYC, fresh off the boat. Fun
Holly- Good luck with this storm. hope you stay on the road this time! I wonder if it will really amount to anything down here. I'm kind of hoping not, I know we haven't had much but I'm ready for real spring.
Ruth - glad that cough has moved on. Enjoy your relaxing day with niggles
I better get my breakfast going before the next To Do pops up on the schedule. First, another cup of coffee!
It's a bright and sunny on this Tuesday morning, a cheery way to start the day.
Debbie, that sounds like a real pain with your internet minutes, but I guess you have to do what works best. Especially with running between 2 homes. What kind of muffins did you make?
Twynne, I don't envy you your day today. That must be one of the hardest parts of being a vet. Let us know how that recipe turns out, OK?
Karen, I'm finding out that every family has drama of one sort or the other going on. Enjoy your lunch date, and I hope it's a happy new "routine" for both of you.
The girls and I are making out pretty well, although they are starting to ask when Mommy and Daddy are going to call them. I think we'll probably get a call sometime late this afternoon. In the meantime, we're having fun and keeping busy with activities. They made homemade pizza for their supper last night, and had a blast seeing how many different veggie combinations they could come up with. Tonight is a busy one with piano lessons and gymnastics, so I promised them we'd go out for Chinese afterwards.
Jake called me at 9:30 last night to say they finally got the new bathtub and shower in. Seems they ran into a lot of plumbing problems. I'll stop by today while the girls are in school to see how things are coming along. We really hadn't planned on this bathroom redo right now, but our old bathtub developed a crack that had to be taken care of immediately. Life has a way of throwing unexpected expenses at you, .
Well, Granddaddy just came in to walk the girls down to the end of the drive for the bus, so I'm going to sit and chat with him for a minute.
Well, we are suppose to get a snow storm tonight starting at 9PM. I am with Holly, all thoughts of the joy of snow have left me for the year. So, do we really need any. I know the farmers want it. Hopefully, it will not be as bad as they say. I have to make a trip into town before work tomorrow.
