Default DASH Diet or WW? Help Decide

My dr has recommended the DASH Diet.It has been in the news lately. My pounds and my blood pressure are creeping up. I have looked online and at the papers she gave me. Sounds like just alot of fruits, veggies, lean meat. Wondering if anyone has done this and if it helped?

Wondering if I should do this or WW? Similar to their new plan.
thoughts?

Are the two mutually exclusive? I am a calorie counter that uses the dash diet as a general guideline because I have benign hypertension since having my second child. The DASH diet focuses on portion control and removing salt. IF you need more guidance, meaning you aren't going to be active about looking up the caloric/sodium content of your food, maybe a more structured plan like ww would be good. I use livestrong.com to log what I eat and it keeps rough estimates of sodium and fat. Good luck with whichever you choose.

Just to clarify, the DASH diet is an eating plan that is rich in fruits, vegetables, and low-fat or nonfat dairy, which are key to the blood pressure restriction. Certainly moderation of sodium intake is recommended, but it is not critical to the DASH diet. The DASH diet lowers blood pressure even without sodium restriction. The rest of the plan is lean meats/fish/poultry, seeds/nuts/beans, whole grains, and heart-healthy fats.
