Default How many calories?

Hi all

Ive done rosemary conley previously and was told that I should of been eating 1200 calories a day to basically keep me fed but help me lose weight.

This consisted of
a milk allowance of 450ml - 200
200 - breakfast
50 - snack
300 - lunch
50 - snack
400 - dinner
---------------
1200

this was when I weighed 14st 2lbs - Im just wondering what should a healthy calorie intake be for a 12st 8lb woman. Im not sure what my activity level should be set at but on a daily basis I
* run round after a 7 year old boy, a 17 month old girl and a Jack Russell.
* I walk down/up two steep valley hills twice a day with a pushchair to take my son to school
as well as general housework / errands etc

Could someone please give me a general idea of how many calories I should be consuming a day to lose weight but remain healthy please.

I also would like to know this as for the last 17 months I havent eaten regular daily meals - I can literally eat two pieces of plain bread and a bag of crisps and be content for the day - due to not eating properly so I would like these as a goal to eat each day.

many thanks

Sam

I was always told it was 7 times your current body weight.

So that would be: 176 x 7 = 1232 (I think it's probably safe to round to 1200)

Kara gave some good advice: 1600 is probably a good number for you to lose at.

You don't have to stick to that number of course, you might consider giving yourself a range—say 1500-1700 for example—so that you don't feel so restricted.
