Good morning.
Cyndi, it's very sad that your beautiful state was so devastated by the storm, but I'm so glad that only 1 life was lost. Although there's a lot of history ruined, bridges and towns can be rebuilt. Lives cannot be replaced.
We still have lots of flooded roads and people without power, but kids in the area are rejoicing that they got one more day of summer vacation to enjoy today.
My DD and her family had a fairly uneventful drive back to their home in NJ last night, and were happy to find that their power had been restored. I should call my parents to see if they have power yet, but they are hooked up to a generator in the meantime, and are making out OK.
I'll be making my way out to the farm later this morning, but there are several flooded areas out there, I'm waiting for the water to recede and the roads to be passable. Cindy's parents spent the weekend with them and brought all their freezer stuff and other perishables, so we'll be helping them take everything back to their house and get settled since their power was just restored. Looks to be a busy day of clean-up around here.
I'm anxious to hear from the rest of our east coast Beachers to see how they've weathered the storm. I hope everyone checks in and is OK!
