Default Calf muscle trembling during exercise

I've been working out on a semi-regular basis since the beginning of July and on a very regular basis since the end of July. I run 30 minutes on the elliptical machine 6 days a week and weight train alternate muscle groups 6 days a week as well.

I always experience something a little quirky in the middle of my time on the elliptical machine. About halfway through the workout, my leg muscles just kind of give out on me for half a second. Almost like my leg fell instantly asleep, but then they're right back up and pumping. I chalked it up to them tiring out and thought nothing else of it. It's just something I expect to happen while I'm exercising.

But today, my left calf muscles started trembling about halfway through my workout. It was only my left leg, but it lasted for about 2 minutes. I didn't know if I was going to make it through my workout because it was so severe. It wasn't painful at all, and it stopped and didn't return after those 2 minutes.

The only thing that was different today in my workout was that I pushed myself harder than normal at the beginning of my time on the elliptical machine. I'm also one day out from TTOM. I don't know if that could make a difference or not.

Any ideas about what's going on? Even though I pushed myself harder than normal, I don't feel like I pushed myself TOO hard. I did get my mile time down by 3 minutes (It's still abysmal, but I'm proud that it's getting better.) and upped my average steps per minute from 100 to 103. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Trembling muscles are generally a sign of fatigue. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

Thanks! I'd never experienced it before on the elliptical (though I certainly have while weight training), so I wasn't sure.
