Default Thursday Chatters in the heat-August

Happy August!

We like to talk and help each other on the way to a healthier life
Come join us!!!

I'm going to the gym 3 x each week to walk on the treadmill and work on my triceps. Yes, I actually found a machine that helps.

Susan, welcome home from San Antonio. Get out there and enjoy your last month of freedom from school.
Jeanne, we all can't wait for you to move into your beautiful new home! How many days a week are you working?
Maureen, what day do you take ownership of your condo? Will you have to do much to it?
Janelle, I wish I had some of your salad fixin's.
Tammy, we are so happy you are doing so well.
Mimi, please post!
farmgirl, I hope things are okay with your family.
Dori, are you still out there? We miss you!

I've got a recipe to post. I'll do it next time.

Oh yum! I'm going to have to make that!

It is 109 degrees. We are on day 32 in a row of temps in the 100's. It's too much! And the next 10 forecast shows it stillup there.

I had great tripto SA. Pat's been sick and still isn't feeling great. He has had a fever and terrible cough for over a week. He did go to the dr.

The heat is zapping me! I don't want to do anything.

Hi everyone!!! Happy August!!!!! I think we are on the downside to this heat!

Tina - I love that recipe!!! I've made it before! I have even made it in dessert dishes. And instead of the pie crust....I just sprinkled graham cracker crumbs on top with fruit!!! Good for you getting back to your ww meetings and walking on the treadmeal! I just kick started my program yesterday! I feel heavy! When I was at the dr. last week had I gained a total of 16# back! Gotta get it under control while I can!

Susan - yay to being home! You will be going back to school soon so enjoy the next couple of weeks to the fullest!!!!

Tammy - YES YES YES.......I too, am sooooo glad to hear that you are doing well!

Maureen - how are things going? Can't wait to see pics of your new place!!!

Marion - hello out there!!!!

Janelle - I would love some of your fresh veggies too!

It's denim days at work for the entire month of august.....so, I'm praying I don't sweat to death trying to wear them!!!! I work tomorrow and then saturday & sunday this week. To answer your question tina, I just work about 3 days a week. And...I'm not in management!

The house is looking absolutely beautiful. I sure am getting a lot of opions about things........colors for one and the biggie from my MIL is the color of stain we picked for the hardwood floors! Urgh! I get so tired of it!
Oh well!

Gotta run.....working on laundry. Just ate my 6 Point dinner and I think I will have the 1 Point fudge bar! Talk soon!!!
Have a great night and stay op! Stay hydrated too!

Oooh---how are those fudge bars? I thought I would buy some when I go for weigh-in. Are they expensive.
Jeanne, I'm so sorry you have to deal with the MIL
Susan, do you cook in this weather? Yuck

Hi all

just sitting here and really hoping that I'll be in my own place by the end of the week. Honestly I must be nuts! I've been back 2 weeks last night & in that time I've started a new job & bought a condo & want things to speed up! What am I thinking!! I wonder why I'm tired-in the last 2 months I've given notice at one job, sold a condo, sold furniture packed boxes and drove 2300 miles, started a new job & bought a place. So, I guess that's why I'm tired. I don't know if I mentioned that I'm staying at my husband's place(next assignment is getting a divorce-it's been 5 yrs that we've been separated)-it's nice of him to let me stay but he smokes and the stink drives me crazy-I feel like i smell like the bottom of an ashtray!-oh, well-keep your fingers crossed that I'll have my keys by friday-I've bought furniture from a friend of mine-all teak and danish style-I just love it-it's about 30 yrs old & in fantastic shape-dining room table & chairs-coffee table, bedroom set a fairly new burgandy leather couch-all I'll really have to buy is a tv, microwave & mattress-my brother's going to send my boxes out as soon as I move.

thanks for listening to the rant
hope we all have a great evening and a super day tomorrow

Yikes!!! My laptop did it to me again. The mouse on this thing just runs amuck and that makes it erase things.

Part of the key lime pie recipe ingredients disappeared.
Thanks Maureen for telling me.

Two ingredients are missing--
2 containers (6 oz.) key lime flavor light yogurt
1 container (8 oz.) fat free whipped topping

Finally getting a break in the heat this week.

Maureen, no wonder you're tired, lots going on.

Thanks for the recipes too.!

Stayed the same this week. 142. I'm ok with that. We had out of town relatives around and lots of food/drink stuffs. Thank goodness, that doesn't happen often.

I'll get some more pics of the garden up later.

Following, a little diet joke, my Mom sent me this, HILARIOUS!

What is a calorie?

Calories are the little b*st*rds that get into your wardrobe at

night and sew your clothes tighter...

MY CLOSET IS INFESTED WITH THE LITTLE S***S.

Still laughing!

Hi Everyone,
Well Mom had her surgery today. They ended up having to go back in there and changed the locking device. it was damaged. I'm sure it's due to her fall the last time and she doesn't keep her foot straight. Hopefully she will be on the right track soon. She will go back to rehab.

Nothing new here but it's hot! I know I keep saying that because it is!!!

Pat is still not feeling well but not running fever. Yea, first time in 2 weeks. However, silly guy is going to play tomorrow night. He doesn't want me to go because it's a crowded and hot place. I'm staying home. I keep trying to tell him that he shouldn't but what do I know!

Stay cool!!
