  • I have a problem with my tattoo. I got it 10 years ago. It is a butterfly on my chest, and I hate it. It's done in blues and purples and I call it my prison tat. Plus, gravity has made it grow! Anyone know what I can do with it besides have it removed? I thought about getting another one over it, but I don't want a larger tattoo and I've heard that any coverups have to be larger than the original. Could I have it recolored? Would brighter colors cover the aweful blues, blacks and purples? What have you done with a tat that doesn't thrill you?

  • In memory of a friend!
  • I have 4, and one of my mini goals for myself is a new tattoo!! I'm addicted!
Given my career I keep them all not visible in a professional setting but they can all be seen when I want them to be!!!

I had the letters USMC on my upper right arm, done in black, red and yellow.

Just before I moved to Japan in 2003, I had it removed by laser. Red and yellow pigments don't respond as well to laser treatment (which removes black 100%). But today, the black is completely gone and the red and yellow so faded by the laser treatment and time, and practically invisible with the freckles.

I don't have anything against tasteful tattoos but, for me, I just felt like it didn't define me anymore as a person; too permanent.
  • I have two tattoo's but I want more! I have one on my wrist of a butterfly and a quote that wraps around my ankle. Sadly the one around my ankle needs to be touched up.
