Default Stupid plateau! Help?

I have been 177.6 for 2 weeks and it's driving me nuts. I am trying to break this plateau and it's been rough. I tried to cut my carbs down but that made me really hungry during the day, since I already eat rather low carb. Instead of cutting carbs out, I am now trying "better" carbs. Today I had 1/2 cup of oatmeal with blueberries for breakfast. My lunches are usually a salad with chicken so I can veggie-load. Dinners are usually fish, or lean meat or sometimes even eggs if I'm pressed for time. I just don't know what to do. I definitely up my exercise load, but it hasn't helped much it seems.

Also, I want to add, I haven't been under 175 since I was probably 12 or 11. I was 175-177 all through high school, up to when I gained my weight in college and such. So is my body resisting? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Also, I love this carrot so I am putting him here:

Maybe try one day where you go absolutely crazy? On my cheat days I eat cake, ice cream, and everything under the sun. And since it's only water weight, I usually lose it in roughly three days.

That might help kick your body's metabolism out of "diet mode".

This would be such an AWESOME solution! I don't know if I'd be able to have just one "cheat day." I might turn it into a cheat week, because I have zero willpower. ...less than zero, haha.

If you look up some answers from the experienced 3FC ladies around here, you'll come to find pretty quickly that 2 weeks is definately not a plateau. Sometimes your body needs to catch up to itself depending on what you are doing and how quickly the weight came off!

Changing up your routine is never a bad idea as you learn what you can do with your body. I wouldn't necessarily recommend a "cheat" day unless you can control yourself and it's planned in advance. You can try a cheat meal maybe once every couple weeks and take it from there (depending on how strict you are the rest of the week). Or you can increase/decrease your calories (be mindful not to cut them too low though!). Or try a different variety of foods -- reducing sodium, sugar, preservatives, all the unnatural stuff.

And my personal way that I busted through a plateau that I was on for 2 years: Had the DH hide the scale so I would stop obsessing every morning when I hopped on and didn't see it move, and I practiced everything I had learned about being as healthy as I can be but without being as hard on myself when I messed up! I haven't weighed myself for the last 2 months and have found that I am down 10 lbs without feeling like I was really trying! That's including social nights with friends where I had a few too many wobbly pops, and days where i said "**** ya I'll have a mini egg (or 20)".
I've also tried to be more mindful of being active. Walking. Yoga. Gardening. Low impact stuff that's fun and keeps me from mindless munching on the couch.

(and before you think that you'd much much prefer to lose more than 10 lbs in 2 months, think about it this way: a year from now, where will you be? Losing it fast isn't the important part. Losing it forever is.)

I think I need to accept this, since I always have a problem with wanting to see INSTANT RESULTS and such! Thanks for the good advice, hehe.
