Wow.. what an awesome thing to have found on a random trip through Google looking for diet tips and support.

Hi there everyone, I'm Victoria, an almost 32 (ten more days) year old mother of two that managed to not only hang on to the baby weight but contribute a bit more to the cause of a more rounded body. I have never really been much of a dieter or exerciser until I got a subtle wake up call....
my work uniform pants were ever so kind in getting tighter and tighter until I realized I looked like a stuffed sausage and I did not want to give in to even bigger pants. When I got home I weighed myself and realized I was 209 lbs, where I had never passed the 200 line before. That's when I told myself I can't stay like this and it was time to get drastic.
This is the first time I have EVER put a serious and honest effort in to weight loss. Scared as I was I am excited to be almost three weeks into it and encouraged to keep going. I had a minor setback today (boyfriends cheat dinner became mine and a bad idea all together) but that means nothing in the face of forever. I look forward to growing stronger in mind and body and hope to find the support here to avoid future setbacks and temptations.. and that's why I'm here.

I am counting calories, trying to keep within 1200-1400 per day and exercise (cardio mostly) at least 1 hour a day 6-7 days a week. I am surprised and pleased at my ability so far to stick these goals I have set for myself.

Sooo.. umm... GO ME! *grins* And GO EVERYONE! Its a tough road bout so worth it

Thanks for the welcome! That quote came from the heart. When I really thought about my bad food choice it was disappointing but I knew it wasn't the end of the world.

Welcome to the forum!

I'm glad that you are so motivated and driven - that's the key to weight loss.
I agree with suenos096, weight training is very important for weight and fat loss.

When you do cardio, the calories burned stops when the exercise stops. But with weight training, you still burn calories for 48 hours after the exercise. Include training with weights for at least 2 times a week.

Good luck!

I believe that Victoria! I felt that from your post

And I love the thought of fat justa burnin' for 48 hours AFTER I've stopped working out.

Welcome!!! I love your enthusiasm and attitude, that'll help you tremendously to keep going even when you feel tempted! Congratulations on making a decision to be healthier. Your body will thank you, and you'll feel great about yourself!

Good luck, and stop by any time you need encouragement, support, or people to tell you "Don't eat that piece of chocolate cake!!" whenever it tempts you! At least... I occasionally need that kick in the butt anyway....

Urk! When I saw that I was over 200 I think my soul hovered above my body for a while as my empty husk stood on the scale in disbelief.

You can totally do it though! If you can stick to your guns, there is no way you won't continue to see progress! You definitely have the right attitude!
