something crunch i can snack on all day?

  • soooo i'm in search of something that is crunchy (NOTE: not celery or carrots ...sorry, had to put the dancing carrot in) that's super low cal and snack-ish, that i can graze on all day. since they have yet to invent the calorie free cookie, i'm hoping for some suggestions... if such a food even exists!

    thanks
  • sorry--title should be something CRUNCHY, not crunch
  • I bought a bag of Kale this week and plan on making baked Kale Chips. I've never done it before but I've read good things about it !
  • that's an awesome idea--my roommate has made those a few times and they're great (though she used olive oil in hers, so i guess it'd be best to omit that). thanks for the suggestion!
  • Jicama

    Kohlrabi

    Radishes

    Cucumbers

I always have this on hand. As a rule, I avoid snacking, but if the hunger hits and dinner is quite late, I will reach for Kale Chips happily.
  • sorry.. what is kale chips and how can i buy kale?

    thanks!!
  • The vegetable ideas are good. I find that a 100 calorie bag of microwave popcorn can go a long way especially when combined with the crunchy vegetables.
  • I love water chestnuts, I eat a small can just about everyday to get my crunch on! Yum

kale is a green leafy vegetable. you can find it in the produce section of your grocery store. google a recipe, but basically you tear it up into small pieces and bake them. they come out crunchy and yummy!
  • thanks! i will definitely look for it and try to make the chips! i have a huge weakness for crunchy things
  • Go with all the above suggestions, kale chips are delish! You wont find anything other than vegetables to indulge in without the consequences.
  • Um, be careful about how long you bake the kale chips. I completely ruined them when I tried cooking them. It was so nasty, because they were wet and burned. ew. lol. I have yet to try it again.
  • My two favourites are sliced apple and also cooked beansrouts (29 calories for 100g)
