Default How we talk to ourselves

I love my meeting leader...she doesn't focus on weight loss so much as she focuses on us being healthy and happy. She always tells us that she doesn't care how much we weight, she still cares and likes us for who we are, gains or losses and that she's there to get us to feel better and be healthy...which is nice to hear. I think she battled severely with eating disorders so she gets it. I've been to meetings with other leaders...and they just don't compare to her at all.

One things she's been focusing on his how we talk to ourselve. That a lot of us aren't very nice to ourselves.

I never really noticed it before...until recently...how horrible I am to myself. If I talked to other people the way I talked to myself...I'd have no one. I can't even count the number of times a week I think of myself as "disgusting"...and so on.

How can I, or we, expect people to see me, or us, in a positive light when we refuse to see ourselves in it?

Fake it till you make it. Everyday you tell yourself you are doing good and you are beautiful and sooner or later you will believe it

I may not have huge losses, I may not be at goal, but I celebrate accomplishments like 1- I am much healthier, 2- I'm under 200 lbs, 3- my skin looks great, 4- my family is also eating healthier, 5- my cycles are more normal, etc

I never realized how MEAN I am to myself sometimes until I really sat back and thought about it.

We are all our own worst critic- if you can believe the negative things about yourself then you can start believing the positive things too

Try saying something positive about yourself daily- it really helps

Imagine saying the things you say to yourself to a friend. If you wouldn't say it to them, don't say it to yourself. We are the best friend we will ever have and need to be good to ourselves.

I guess my point of posting this is that I know I'm not the only one...I wanted to hear more experiences and feeling from the people that do the same thing.
