Default Writing stuff down?

For some reason i feel that i need a step by step "this is what you do" workout. Has anyone written down a workout routine for like a week or whatever? Like for example: Day 1 Run 2 miles. do 3 sets of this workout and 100 of this workout. Day 2...etc. I don't know why i feel like i need to do this but i do and i need help. I just wish i had a personal trainer to tell me exactly what i need to do...I'm hopeless i think.

Hi there,

I have just recently started working out and I also needed to write down a plan to follow. I got lots of exercise tips on here and also spent some time researching work at home workout routines. I keep a sheet where I list all of the various exercises that I learn about and then each 2 weeks I will pick and choose (to mix it up) to create a workout

Here is a sample of my workout plan:

M - LB (lower body)
Thigh raisers (with ankle weights) - 10 reps/5 sets
Bicycle chair (ankle weights) - 5 r/3 s
Squats - 10 r / 2 s
Donkey kicks - 10 r (each leg) / 3 s
Superman - 5 r / 3 s

T - Aquafit (water training/aerobics)

W - Core Training
leg lifts/double leg lifts
Upper Cuts (made the name up )
Swipers (another made up name b/c I didnt know the official one lol)
Twisters (yet again... see a pattern? )

TH - Aqua Fit

F - Aqua Fit

S (if I choose) - UB (upper body)
Dumbell Bicep curls
Tricep kickbacks
Lawnmower
Standing oblique twists
Vertical jumping jacks

ok sorry this got kind of long. I would encourage you to find some reliable sites online where you can learn what different exercises work what parts of the body.

Good luck on creating a plan that works for the goals that you have! You can do it! If you find something is too difficult or not difficult enough, you can modify your number of sets, or add/remove weights from the exercise.

well Slvrangl--- you havent told us what your GOAL is........

is your goal to gain muscle? The workout would be tailored toward that

Is your goal Fatloss?
Then it doesnt matter what workout you do (or dont do) diet results in faloss.... be in a caloric deficit...... walk, strengthtrain, sit on the couch, doesnt matter as long as you are eating less than your body burns, you will lose fat. you could have the greatest, most intense workout routine EVER, but if your diets not in check, you wont lose weight. Period. End of story

If you'd wanted to start running there's heaps of programs ready to download off the web. Why not have a look on-line as there must be exercise programs for weight loss there too??

hi again, I also forgot to mention that if one of your issues is not knowing how to properly do the exercises, I would highly recommend you check out youtube or fitnessmagazine.com, exercise tv (or another good site).

Also to mention... the routine that I shared above is for fatloss, general fitness, as well as building muscle mass. A routine does not have to be one or the other you just need to make sure the exercises you plan are targeted for the results you want (which is why i feel that researching the different types is crucial)!

Just wanted to let you know that I have another site I am adding to my resource list: www.bodyrock.tv, it's for at-home workout routines. I haven't had a chance to browse it fully but so far there are great videos, and tips.
